Nice jacket, but..., February 17, 2010
Let me first say that I really like the products of Cloudveil, a US (WY) company. I own a hardshell jacket that is one of my favorite in my "collection". Let me second say that when looking for a fleece, I was in search of something that could be worn alone in the 30 degree (freezing) temp range. The Gridlock was indicated to have Thermal Pro, a form of insulation designed to retain heat. Thus, I assumed it would be a perfect cold weather jacket. While the torso portion of the jacket provides solid warmth and protection, the arms are not well insulated. In fact, if interested in a cold weather option, I would recommend something that possesses wind resistance (i.e. something with Gore Windstopper or the like, which I now own). While the Gridlock is a good looking jacket, and will be worn, it's not recommended but as a cool temperature jacket or a second layer. Finally, I note that while listed as black, the jacket harbors a green hue. Not a big deal to me, as the jacket and color are stylish, but could be... Happy shopping.
