This jacket is great! This was my first gore-tex jacket, and I must admit up front that I have not used it for skiing. I work for a graduate student in Wildlife management in Northern California. Its rainy and somewhat cold for much of the summer. When I combined this with my waterproof pants (and shoes), I remained dry even when it was pouring outside and I was walking through vegetation up to my head. Its color is not quite what you see, its much more bright red than that dull red in the photos. There are two inside pockets, one which zips and the other does not. One thing about the one that does not zip is that you must be careful that things do not fall out of it when you bend over to pick something off the ground. I would have preferred two zippered pockets. I would definitely buy this jacket again!
