Amazing product. No need to fumble with the iron when doing those 1/2" and 2" folds.

I was skeptical. But it's Clover, the brand I love, so I gave it a try.

I used this pen on regular weight cotton fabric for hems, and it worked like magic! No need to iron ever!

Then I did some experiment. Out of old jeans, I made sturdy bag, and this pen helped a lot with making 1/2 inch hems. I still need pins/ wonder clips (another wonderful product from Clover) to fold the fabric in place, but, it's much easier with this pen.

It won't work well with cotton - nonwoven fusible interfacing combo. It might work on woven ones, but I'm not sure.

The bottom line is, if you don't like ironing but still need to fold cotton fabrics, buy it and you'll love it.

This really works! In making clothes for my Grand daughter I am making a lot of small hems. Always frustrating when pressing and burning your fingers. So I got this and experimented using it on half the hem. When I pressed the folding pen side I had a sharp crease and the other half needed to be pinned before sewing. A great time saver and more accurate job.

I usually think of sewing as a traditional activity but the truth is there's tons of awesome space age advances that have changed what you can do, and made sewing tons easier. This, for example, is such a simple little idea, but ingenious, really, and makes things tons easier. I can't help but think that this is one of many wonderful things that we can chalk up to Title 9 and more and more women in STEM careers: materials science applied to areas & interests that were once primarily women's.

This is a great tool I discovered after 60 (what?) years of sewing! Great for hem-turning, even to iron out a pressed-in crease. Just stroke it on your fabric, using a ruler or even a curve as a guide, and voila! It makes the fabric turn so easily that only finger-pressing is needed. Makes a nice crisp line - will be wonderful for applique as well as binding quilts, etc.
