Snapped like a twig!

When I'm burying a knot, I use the needle to "pry" open the hole a bit to help the knot through. I've done this a million times with lots of different needles. However, the first time I tried it with this needle, it snapped in half like a dry twig. The top half of the needle, which is conveniently black, flew across the room. I spent an hour finding the thing before it ended up in a kid's foot. Now I'm afraid to use them. I'll go back to my "cheap" needles that can handle the rigors of my Hulk-like strength. Rawr.
