I highly recommend it to any crafter.

It's much less taxing on my hands than using scissors to cut through the fabric layers, and also makes much more even cuts.

CLOGS up with lint really really bad.

After making a large chenille baby blanket using scissors, my numb hands and I decided it was time to invest in a chenille cutter. The Clover Slash Cutter has made chenille projects incredibly fast, much easier, and less stressful! The guard on the bottom ensures that you don't risk cutting the backing fabric (a risk with the scissors), and the sharp blade made short work of the cutting. It's much less taxing on my hands than using scissors to cut through the fabric layers, and also makes much more even cuts. The finished product turned out beautifully. I'm thrilled!

Using the slash cutter was the easiest part of a recent faux chenille baby blanket project. The cutter came out of the package ready-to-use, and it took me less than 5 minutes to cut the multitudes of chenille lines. I can't imagine how long it would take to do the same task with scissors.

The cutter handle and foot make it ergonomically comfortable. The blade cut through 4 layers of flannel easily. When it dulled, a quick click of the rotating blade exposed a shapened section. The cutter did not clog with threads. Highly recommended for this type of project.

With this purchase you get both the regular and the shorter guide which lets you easily cut a variety of sewn channels to make chenille.

After spending hours hand cutting 1/4 of my blanket, I saw a youtube video mention this tool. I'm so glad I put the project onhold until it arrived in the mail. It took me an hour to finish the rest of the blanket and I'm sold. This became a NEVER AGAIN project to a... only for special people projct. There are 8 "settings" on the tool so that you can turn the blade slightly everytime it gets dull. I went through 3 settings/stations in a 1 yard blanket. Honestly, even if i had used the entire blade up in one blanket, it was worth it.

I read many reviews and decided to go with the Clover versus the other chenille cutter because it has a handle. The handle is absolutely NECESSARY! My hand would be so fatigued if I had bought the other cutter or used my scissors. The Clover worked perfectly! I was cutting through 3 layers of flannel about 45 inches square. I never had to click the blade to a sharper section. I was done quickly and my blanket looks so cute! A definite necessary tool if you are making a blanket.

Some tips to make it easier:

1. snip the ends of the flannel to start the cut
2. hold the fabric down behind the cutter with your opposing hand flat on the table
3. that being said, cut on a flat surface
4. keep the cutter perpendicular to the table to keep the cut straight
5. I tested the cutter out and cut the last ten lines without cleaning out the lint build up and it cut great from the first cut to the last! There is a small channel under the blade that collects the excess lint so the blade does not get clogged up. Genius!
6. If the fabric you are using is rather thick it may be better to cut one or two layers at a time. I used standard flannel, 3 layers, and it worked great but could see how a heavier weave fabric could clog things up.
7. pre-wash your fabrics to cut down on lint build up

Excellent purchase! I would definitely recommend it to a friend!

I bought this to help with faux chenile blankets. It cut through 3 layers of flannel without any issues! I would reccomend it! I did, later, find it at my local JoAnn's after it was restocked!

I had looked at this one prior to making my initial purchase of an OLFA product that does the same thing.

CLOVER BRAND - LOVE IT. Smooth as ice and slices through 3 layers of flannel like butter. DOES NOT clog up with lint like the OLFA brand does. If I knew then what I know now, I would have bought this one first. Very pleased.

Comments about the other brand I bought previously - OLFA - not impressed with sharpness of their blades - when will I learn ? Cludgey to use ergonomically speaking. CLOGS up with lint really really bad. NOT IMPRESSED.

It's difficult to cut thru three layers of flannel without cutting the bottom layer so this was just what I needed to make fabric chenille
