5.0 out of 5 stars Great House Music
Peter Rahoufer is a phemononal DJ and some of his greatest mixes are contained right here. What he does with a song like Depeche Mode's "No Good" is just brilliant. He has a knack for turning a song that has no right to be remixed into a dance anthem, no small feat. He also does really well with the dance tracks especially Brainbug's "Nightmare",...

2.0 out of 5 stars Defeats the purpose of making Rauhofer's mixes available...
Sure, it's a GREAT idea to put a whole load of Club 69/Rauhofer hard to get remixes on one disc, and they even found 2 volumes worth, and I'll even accept that the tracks are continuously mixed, but to have most tracks falling short of 6 minutes is just ridiculous. They rave in the liner notes on the back of these discs that some mixes are available for the first time ever on CD, but they didn't even bother to put a small print pointing out that only HALF of each mix is what you're getting. Get this out of desperation to have at least a portion of the mixes in your collection. Track times:

1. it's no good (7:30)
2. Der komissar (6:00)
3. Music (5:30)
4. House on fire (5:29)
5. Nightmare (5:29)
6. my urban soul (6:20)
7. Shout to the top (6:49)
8. Meet her at the love parade (5:40)
9. ohno (4:44)
10. Live in unity (5:49)
11. Hold your head up high (5:33)
12. fired up (4:47)
13. din dad da (4:15)

by the way, you can now get the FULL length mix of Depeche Mode's "It's No Good" on their Remixes 81-04 3 disc boxed set.

He has a knack for turning a song that has no right to be remixed into a dance anthem, no small feat. He also does really well with the dance tracks especially Brainbug's "Nightmare", one of the best house songs ever. Falco's "Der Komissar" has never sounded better and the same goes for "Din Da Da." This collection flows organically and is some of the best house music around. If you like Junior Vasquez Live Vol. 2, this is a must-have.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent compilation!, July 10, 2000
This review is from: Club 69 Future Mix 1: The Collected Remixes of Peter Rauhofer (Audio CD)
This is an excellent selection of peter rauhofer mixes. It's the only chance to get some very rare mixes like the wonderful Depeche Mode's "It's no good". He's a great producer/remixer. This compilation is perfectly mixed! CAN'T WAIT FOR VOLUME 3!

4.0 out of 5 stars Schau, schau, der Peter mixed herum (in fact, pretty well), November 25, 1998

Ugh, "It's No Good" is a horrible track, even the remix can't rescue it. I thought overall the CD was an okay buy (especially if you already have Junior Vasquez Vol 2 ... get that first, if you don't have it already: two of the best tracks--by Size queen and Hans--overlap). Still, I loved the reworking of Falco's "Der Kommissar" into a club track (some of the vocals got thrown out) and "My Urban Soul".

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent intro to that "Twisted" sound, August 9, 1998
This review is from: Club 69 Future Mix 1: The Collected Remixes of Peter Rauhofer (Audio CD)
Heavy, vaguely tribal beats and deep synth bass are what characterize most remixes by Peter Rauhofer, better known as Club 69. If you buy any single from the Twisted label, there's a pretty good chance you'll see his name on it in some capacity. If you're a fan of his work (as I am)you'll love this CD, especially since it's got some pretty cool unreleased and vinyl-only mixes. I advise buying both CDs in the set (though if you only want one, go for vol. 2, actually).

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect undergound house mix-cd!, July 9, 1998

This review is from: Club 69 Future Mix 1: The Collected Remixes of Peter Rauhofer (Audio CD)
A great retrospective of Peter Rauhaufer's remix work. Very moody yet distinctly showcasing what the 'Club 69 Future Mix' does to a music track! By far the best song is the re-working of Depeche Mode's "It's No Good".

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent throughout, May 21, 2000
This review is from: Club 69 Future Mix 1: The Collected Remixes of Peter Rauhofer (Audio CD)
This compilation was not so bad, Peter is not a good dj though. His style of spinning has and always will remain weak, regardless of where he is spinning.

I remember hearing most of these cuts spun at the Tunnel, back when it was actually a decent club, and full of life. It brings back very good memories of a good period, under the once held reign over Manhattan, by the Tunnel.
