awesome compilation,

this cd is a great compilation of hard to find songs in their full 12 inch versions with one exception. love deluxe's here comes that sound again is really a 16 minute song thats cut down to under 9 min. granted your not losing anything musically with the same chorus being sung over and over on the last 7 minutes of the song, but it is somthing you should know if your into just the 12 inch versions like i am.but dont pass this cd up for that because the 12 inch version is practically non existant,i bought my on bootleg some 15 years ago. as far as the other songs go you cant go wrong with victim, i caught your act (which is about 25 seconds longer than my 12 inch vinyl copy),found a cure, dancer, and one of my all time favorites forbidden love.which is even longer than madleen kane's 12 inches and more album by 3 minutes. and a pleasant surprise was night rider, a song i totally forgot about. thats the sign of a great compilation. i know you will enjoy this cd as much as i will.

This is a superb collection of full-length disco classics - none of your disappointing radio edits and definitely none of the usual rubbish that appears on every other second-rate collection. Stunning! Why didn't they make this a series - or would that have been tempting fate?

A TOP-NOTCH COMBINATION OF DISCO CLASSICS!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Club Floor Classics: 70's (Audio CD)
I have to say that this is the best combination of 70's jams by far!Other cds had songs that were too common and commercialized exp:(I will survive and Don't leave me this way).I like those songs too but it's nothing like listening to a song that's rare & treasurable that you wish that you can turn back the hands of time! Most of all, this cd plays the original versions and with NO CUTS/EDITS!The combination of raw, funk and euro disco is what compelled me to add this to my collection."VICTIM & FOUND A CURE" is indeed good dance hits but TOO COMMON!My favorites are the funky and raw "HERE COMES THAT SOUND AGAIN" fun & bubbly "I CAUGHT YOUR ACT" and rare and instrumental "WHISTLE BUMP"!!Plus there is the entrancing/pulsating "DANCER" sophisticated euro- disco "FORBIDDEN LOVE" and the smooth & swingy sounds of "NIGHT RIDER"!!"HOLLYWOOD is a likeable upbeat tune that had to grow on me and I didn't like "DO YOUR DANCE"(Rose Royce).Once again if you're looking to purchase a disco combination with rare and bona-fide get off your seat dancehits, I highly recommend "CLUB FLOOR CLASSICS THE 70'S! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED !!!!!!

dancefloor thrillers,

A great collection of 'oldskool' disco. The tracks are at maximum lenght and this serves the cd-title right. I can't imagine a party where people would escape the dancefloor when this cd is on. The music varies from the - little over the top - string arrangements of Love Deluxes' Here comes that sound again, funky disco like Asford & Simpson or Rose Royce, to trancy tracks like Gino Soccio' Dancer. Definitely a better collection than the standard disco compilations: you got the full 12 inch versions and less too well-known tracks.

rare classic disco,
By Deejay X (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Club Floor Classics: 70's (Audio CD)
This collection exemplifies vintage disco, not the disco music
that was big on pop charts, but rather tracks which were most frequently played at nightclubs where dancing was popular. Some of the tracks in this wonderful compilation (ie. "Forbidden Love" by Madleen Kane and "Night Rider" by Venus Dodson) only made the Club Charts, whereas others, such as Ashford and Simpson's "Found A Cure", received airplay on the Pop Charts. Nevertheless, if you are looking for rare, refreshing, danceable, and pure disco from the late 1970s, then this CD is for you!

Absolutely Fabulous!,

As a disco music Lover(!) this CD reminds me of the days when I danced all night to extended play songs...
I still love Disco Music and use this CD as a rhythm for walking at the gym or outdoors. I especially like the first two songs and they get me in the mood for walking or working out on the weight machines at the gym. Exercise in not my favorite thing to do at age 61, but when I play this music, I totally forget that I'm exercising (because I HAVE to)and since I love to dance this CD makes me feel like I'm 35 again..LOL!! The beat to these songs are somewhat fast for walking, but I'm a fast walker, so listen to the samples--you'll love 'em.

A good collection of club tracks,
By Andy C London (London) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Club Floor Classics: 70's (Audio CD)
This collection, unlike a lot of others on the market, boasts excellent sound transfers and an intelligent selection of genuine club tracks. It does however try to cover a number of bases in it's musical choices and as a result you may feel, like me, more fondly towards some tracks than others - in my case, I could easily have done without 'Whistle Bump', 'Do Your Dance' and Freddie James' rubbish 'Hollywood'. The other tracks however are very welcome on CD, especially Venus Dodson's little remembered 'Night Rider'. Overall this CD shows that there are some people out there that really care about the music. Well done and let's hope that this is the beginning of a series.

tight disco jams,
This review is from: Club Floor Classics: 70's (Audio CD)
when i get a compilation i only want the original versions. I can't stand when a song has the edited version and thankfully this disc has the Original extended grooves to keep my toes curling and moving non stop. Rose Royce is on here Hue Corperation and others with some of the tightest jams of the late 70's.

I love Disco!,

This review is from: Club Floor Classics: 70's (Audio CD)
I just received this CD yesterday and have been playing it since. The cuts I like the best are "Do Your Dance" by Rose Royce (a full 9:17 minutes), "I Caught Your Act" by Hues Corporation (4:31 minutes), "Dancer" by Gino Soccio (8:28 minutes), and "Forbidden Love" by Madleen Kane (8:24 minutes). "Victim" and "I Found A Cure," also favorites, I already owned on different CD's. "Whistle Bump" is growing on me as well as "Hollywood." I don't remember hearing "Night Rider" before, but it's an Ok song. This CD is definitely worth owning. All songs were originally released in years 1977, '78 or '79.
