First CD Awesome,

I should give this CD 4 stars, since I'm not a fan of the second CD, but because it's tough to find a complete mix cd that you can listen to start to finish, I owe it to Johnny Vicious to give this CD all 5. Disk one is awesome start to finish. Disk two has some popular dance stuff, but I'm more of a trance fan myself. This CD is from the days when Ministry of Sound actually pursued quality rather than quantity. I highly recommend this classic disk.

Having heard Tall Paul live, I know that CD 2 is far from what he can come up with. But there are a few nice tracks on CD2 - 'Lectronik', 'Strange World'.Johnny Vicious is good. The first 4 tracks on CD1 are awesome. (Which you can expect if three of the four song composers are Tiesto, PvD and BT)

the first four or five tracks on disc one are the only songs i ever really listen to.this compilation would be nothing without track four, ("Ordinary World" [Above and Beyond Mix] - Aurora UK) hence the three star rating. without track four- two stars. ministry of sound could've did better. shame on them. i've come to expect more. dispid has spoken. let there be light.

I loved the first disc, the 2nd disc could have been better,

I wasn't too impressed with what I've heard with the second disc mixed by Tall Paul. It wasn't bad but it wasn't nowhere near the awesomeness of the first disc mixed by Johnny Vicious. The songs lacked the punch that Johnny's mixes had. Now that is said and done, on with my review of the first disc. The second I heard the Dj Tiesto remix of Delerium's "Silence", I knew immediately this cd was going to (be a hit). The production is big, the melodies are excellent. The song structure hasn't been distorted by Johnny's mixing abilities. I liked what I heard. Several minutes later, "Silence" quickly becomes "We Are Alive", my favorite Paul Van Dyk song off his "Out There and Back" cd. I do wish that Johnny used the full vocal mix version of this song but nonetheless I'm happy to hear this song. I was totally surprised to hear a dance version of Duran Duran's "Ordinary World" w/female vocals. That really knocked my socks off. I also loved the trance version of "Here With Me". This first disc in Club Nation America was impressive and made me think of the Saturday nights I spent in Chicago dancing to house and trance music. Just awesome.

Disc 2 is where it shines,
This review is from: Club Nation America (Audio CD)
Disc 1, mixed by Johnny Vicious, is the weaker of the two. It starts with three really strong trance songs, then gets into a glut of cheesy, anthemic trance. Seriously, he makes Oakenfold sound like Digweed, "Los Angeles" era...It's mixed extremely well, very smooth transitions. If you're a fan of the genre, it'll be your cup of tea; if not, then it's up to Tall Paul.TP delivers a very diverse mix of trance, house, and breaks. He includes the UNSTOPPABLE "I Wanna Be U" by Chocolate Puma (this track is blowing UP!!!), "Star 69" by Fatboy Slim (which works really well in this set), and others. Tall Paul is the highlight of the album. Overall, it's a great disc, especially if you can find it for under $15. Johnny Vicious may not be right for you, but Tall Paul will seal the deal for ya...

Ministry of Sound has a long history of producing sold collections of club, dance, and chill music. This album is their club offering for 2001. I'm more of a fan of their "Chilled 1991-2008," collection, but wanted to give this album a try.Basically it is not a bad collection, but most of the tracks are not really that moving. Like others have noted, the first CD is a lot better than the second, but even the first isn't more than 3.5/5 stars. If you're really into club music, or just love Ministry of Sound this might be worth picking up. Otherwise take pass.

As any MOS fan would agree they know what their listeners like and keep providing us with new great sounds. This cd is certainly one you should have in your collection if you like dance music. Tall Paul and Johnny Vicious are 2 great djs that put the mix through it's paces and you come out the winner.

I just received this cd yesterday, Both CD's are nice....the first CD starts with a blast and then slows little bit in the middle and pumps up hard with bass in th end...Boths albums have more vocals in the tracks compared to other ministrys clubbers cds. The second Album by Tall Paul is also nice and I kind like both of them. A few songs are repeated from other Ministry of Sound Albums. I am more of a Hard Rave person.........so the end tracks of both Albums were quite appealing......

I got club nation america after hearing about it on some commercial. I downloaded some tracks from the 1st cd off audiogalaxy and i loved it so i bougt the CD. The 1st CD in the set was pretty [...] good! As a matter of fact, i had a lot of the tracks stuck in my head fro weeks. So why only 3 stars? Because the second CD sucked, and when i mean suck i mean REALLY suck. Its one of those CDs that if youre doing something while playing the CD, the CD will really just fade into the background, and then 10 mins later youll be like "Oh wait, im supposed to be listing to a CD arent I". I can tell you that i couldnt even listen to the whole CD in one standing, it was that crappy. Anyway, if you want a good ministry of sound double set get either House Nation America or Trance NAtion America. Those are great.
