Great Magazine for Preschoolers and Early Elementary,
This review is from: Clubhouse Jr (Magazine)
My mom purchased Clubhouse Jr for the kids a few months ago. Published by Focus On The Family, this magazine has been around since I was a child. For ages 3-7, my kiddos fall right into this category.
I have to say that the first two issues we received were disappointing. A lot of the magazine contained pictures, drawing, and jokes sent in by readers. Then we received this month issue!!! LOVE. IT. They have added more pages and activities. The stories are fun and engaging. Even today we have three activities planned that are suggested in the magazine. Different than the other magazine that we subscribe to (which I love as well), Clubhouse JR includes information about other countries. As we read, we are constantly looking at the map. I love how it exposes our kiddos to other cultures and countries throughout the world! Here is what Focus on the Family has to say about it: The top 5 reasons why kids love being in "The Club": - Character-building stories and exciting articles. - Cooking, baking and crafts activities. - Colorful illustrations and photography. - Fun-filled puzzles, games, riddles and jokes. - A worldwide community of Clubhouse friends. But that's not all! Parents and grandparents love both Clubhouse Jr. and Clubhouse magazines because they build character in youngsters through the simple, life-changing, biblical values that fill each story, craft, joke and article. This month we read a wonderful article on the Fruits of the Spirit. The abstract terms were made so simple that even my daughter understands the "fruits".

We had a subscription to this magazine for about a year and a half, for our 6yr old daughter. She LOVED it! It offerend stories, coloring pages, activities and crafts. It kept her attention through about the age of 7. As she started getting older, she lost interest and we transitioned to Clubhouse. This magazine is good for kids who like to read, but I wouldn't recomend it for those who don't. All in all, it is a great magazine giving smaller children the gift of God's Word and God's Creation through this fun, kid-friendly format. Makes a great gift!!!

I got this magazine for my grandchildren 5 & 7. They love getting mail. Even though this magazine is not especially for all ages, they both like looking and reading it.

I bought this for my granddaughter who is just beginning kindergarten. I visited her over Thanksgiving, and she was excited to show me the magazine. The articles are short - just the attention duration for someone her age. I like the principles that this teaches and am happy that she enjoys the selections.

buyer beware! for whatever stupid reason, it takes these people like two months plus to send the first issue of the magazine. you would be better off just ordering directly from focus on the family at www.family.org
so meanwhile, i am left looking like the uncle full of empty promises to my six year old nephew who is constantly reminding me that i said i had a gift coming for him in the mailbox. so please, i beg of you if you dont want to be utterly disappointed, don't make the mistake i did. |
