4.0 out of 5 stars Buena Alternativa, February 9, 2005
By
This review is from: Clubland: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
Mork

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Club Mix, January 9, 2003

Elderbear (Loma Linda, Aztlan) - See all my reviews
(VINE VOICE)
This review is from: Clubland: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
From the grungiest house to the most sublime vocals over bongos, this CD vibes, boogies, dances & trip hops through sounds I can usually only find after midnight on a college station. From the organ work in John Oszajca's "Bi-Sexual Chick" to the classic guitar over synthesizers in 200,000 (in counterfeit fifty dollar bills) by Citizen Cope, this CD presents an amazing range of sounds. Lucie Gamelon's haunting voice makes "Good Advice." Crustation's "Purple" sublimely trip hops into the grey zone of the subconscious.

If your idea of a great blend of sounds is The Greatest Hits of the 70's, then perhaps this isn't the CD for you. But if you like innovative music, sounds that pull out their roots and twist them into something new, consider this as you wonder "where have all the rock n roll heros gone?" (Jimmy Tuckett, "Not Me")

5.0 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack and not a bad movie either!, June 1, 1999

This soundtrack is pretty grovey! The best songs by far are those performed by Jimmy Tucket. "Not Me" should be an instint hit. I look forward to hearing Tucket in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lucie Gamelon, April 11, 2000

This review is from: Clubland: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
There is a great band out there called Lucie Gamelon. There from Los Angeles in the U.S.A. Headed by lead singer, writer and bassist Blair Tefkin who is very very talented! On guitar Bernard Yin, Brian Sussman on Drums and last but not least Suzanna Mast on keyboard. There song on the Clubland soundtrack is called "Good Advice" which is excellent! Its worth buying the soundtrack just for the one song, its that good! "Good Advice" is also on the Lucie Gamelon album called "Everything is Nice" As you can tell im a big fan of the band!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great listening for the edge in all of us, June 2, 1999

I thought this was a great collection of various artists with a lot of talent. I would have to say my favorite songs were 'Games You Play' by Splashdown and 'Stayin Alive' by Supple. I haven't seen the movie but I am definitely anticipating it based on the soundtrack. If you like alternative and rock, buy it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Clubland Soundtrack is GOOD overall, May 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Clubland: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I think this is a GOOD soundtrack. I haven't seen the movie though. The strongest songs on this are probably "Bi-Sexual Chick by John Oszajca", a cover of "Stayin' Alive by Supple", and a truly different song "200,000 by Citizen Cope", the rest of the artist are good but these tunes stick out in my head. Plus most of these people are unsigned bands on a Major soundtrack.
