I thought I was the only one confused and frustrated.
C. M. Francis
It is a bit complicated at first with the pieces that need to be played but then not a challenge at all for her age.
Shannon
After reading the instructions several times, it seemed overly complicated.

I am an avid fan of Clue, and my family has several versions of the game, including Clue Jr., so we were excited to see this newest children's version of the game. Upon trying to play the game, however, we were frustrated, confused, and, irritated by the poor graphics, inattention to detail (i.e., the characters' names are not provided anywhere, so if someone is a newcomer to the game, he or she will probably be confused), and need to appease by rigging the game for easiness (i.e., the die has only numbers 4, 5, & 6, so low rolls will not be a problem for players). The process of deduction is almost entirely removed from the game as well. It was a waste of time and money.

What can you say about dice that have only high scores? A Junior version of Clue which requires no detective work? A game that seems to have been put together one afternoon with little thought? Well, I just said it. Don't buy this! Clue, Jr. is okay, and frankly Clue is fully playable by 7 or 8 year olds without much trouble, so just avoid this.

We bought this for my almost 4 year old for Christmas even though the age is 5+. She has been playing games for a year, so she was ready for it. The first time we played, we were not impressed, but the second time I enjoyed it much more. There is some luck to this game, but I think it is great for preschoolers (I would lower the age). I do try to play without adding extra insights into the game by interpreting someone else's actions because I know my 4 year old is not doing that. The time cards will help her learn to read a clock. I do agree with other reviews that the characters are hard to identify without words or color on the clue sheet. I also agree with those who were reviewing it for 7 or 8 year olds that it is too simple.

This game has the most confusing graphics, especially the more advanced game. I always loved the game "Clue" as a kid. This is nothing like it. I asked my mom to buy this for my 4 1/2 year old daughter for Christmas. I feel sorry my mom wasted her money. I was glad to read the other reviews. I thought I was the only one confused and frustrated.

My 6 year old boys received this for Christmas. We love playing board games as a family, but this one is a complete waste of time and money. We've played it once, and found it boring and unchallenging. I wish I could take this one back and purchase the classic Clue or even Clue Jr. With some help learning the directions, I think my boys could have played the older versions. This is so basic, I think a 4 yr old could play it.
