5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful "Regional" Story, June 23, 2011
This review is from: The Clue in the Corn Maze (Boxcar Children (Pb)) (Hardcover)
This is a delightful Boxcar Children adventure, in which the four children travel and learn about corn mazes. And solve a mystery, of course. There's a kid-directed night-time stakeout at the corn maze, to spot a mischief-maker. Lots of fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ms. Warner does it again, June 9, 2008
My now 11-year old son *loves* Gertrude Chandler Warner's Boxcar Children Mysteries. I started reading them to him, a chapter a night, before bed, years ago. Now he reads them himself. And getting him to read in English is no mean feat. He has no trouble with speaking and understanding the language, but reading it is another matter. I think the kids' sense of self-reliance really appeals to him and the settings of the books are quite varied, which keeps things interesting.

The Boxcar Children mysteries are mysterious enough to be interesting, but never too scary, which is great for bedtime stories and/or for younger, more easily scared children. Also Mom is happy because the language is good and the 4 kids are so nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific Series, April 12, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My son, who is 26 years old, has always loved the Boxcar Children series. He started reading these books in elementary school and now he wants to get the series for HIS sons. Grammy (that's me) is buying the entire Boxcar Children series for my grandsons (and their father!). Truely delightful stories for kids of any age.
