Nancy is approaching a house when, suddenly, it explodes and erupts in flames. Finding a diary at the scene, she follows its lead to solve a missing-person case that involves a swindler. Laura Linney has a matronly voice, expressive and sufficient of itself. The music and sound effects added for emphasis at times come close to overwhelming her fine performance. Still, Drew devotees should not be disappointed by this production. M.T.F. © AudioFile 2004, Portland, Maine--
