5.0 out of 5 stars This book was adventerous, interesting, and full of life!
Nancy Drew and her friends help a former European queen locate her missing grandson, Prince Michael. It probably seems sooo boring, but NO! There are so many other mysteries located around this big one. It is jam packed with crooks, tensity, suspicion, detectives, conflics, and solution. It kept me hanging on the edge, asking myself, "What can possibly happen now...

This review is from: The Clue in the Jewel Box (Nancy Drew, Book 20) (Hardcover)
Nancy Drew and her friends help a former European queen locate her missing grandson, Prince Michael. It probably seems sooo boring, but NO! There are so many other mysteries located around this big one. It is jam packed with crooks, tensity, suspicion, detectives, conflics, and solution. It kept me hanging on the edge, asking myself, "What can possibly happen now? What's next?" I got those answers, and even though it was the first Nancy Drew I've ever read, I've taken in about seven more of her books since. I say,"READ THIS BOOK!!"

This review is from: The Clue in the Jewel Box (Nancy Drew, Book 20) (Hardcover)
This review concerns the original 1943 edition as well as the revised 1972 edition which is merely a shortened version of the original. Nancy meets an elderly lady, Mrs. Alexandra, who was formerly a queen in a European country. When a revolution erupted in the country, the woman's entire family perished except for her grandson who was brought to America by his nurse. When Mrs. Alexandra escaped to America, she was never able to find her grandson and hopes that Nancy could locate him for her. Also, pickpockets are at work in River Heights. To anyone that just read my summary of the book and thinks that it will be boring, don't let that stop you from reading this book; it is actually a fairly decent book. I liked the fact that through the course of the book, Nancy was fooled and used many times by the criminals to get away with their crimes, it made her seem more human and not like the SuperNancy we see in many of the books. However, in the end her intelligence and intuition won out over the criminals. I particularly thought that it was clever the way in which the pickpockets managed to fool Nancy. The book has a moderate amount of action, is written well and I found that for the most part it held my interest all the way through. I think that most Nancy Drew fans would enjoy reading it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Faye's Nazaria review, February 15, 2010
I love this book, Nancy Drew: The Jewel Box, because, there are beautiful and attractive treasures and it was owned by a former queen from Europe. The Queen's bame was Marie Alexandra. She is a wealthy person. The part that I did'nt like is when Nancy fell on the stage on the Woman's Club, because, Nancy almost did not win.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, June 26, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Clue in the Jewel Box (Nancy Drew, Book 20) (Hardcover)
This book was a great suspense/thriller book. Nancy helps an elderly woman named Mrs. Alexandra. Nancy befriends her and learns she is a queen from a distant country. Mrs. Alexandra tells her of a long lost grandson, which she is determined to find. Nancy is trying to solve that mystery, when she notices many pick-pocket thefts in her town of River Heights. Nancy then finds out the two mystery's are connected, and Nancy is determined to solve it. Nancy figures out the confusing burglury of wallets, and finds the long lost grandson of Mrs. Alexandra. This is a wonderful book, like all Nancy Drew's.

4.0 out of 5 stars Book Review: The Clue in the Jewel book, May 24, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Clue in the Jewel Box (Nancy Drew, Book 20) (Hardcover)
The Clue in the Jewel Box by Carolyn Keene was an exciting novel. It is part of the Nancy Drew series. It was a little slow getting into the mystery, but after the mystery part of the book got started, it got really good. It was definitely a cliffhanger. Nancy helps a former queen from Europe find her long lost grandson. Before long, Nancy finds the prince, or so she thinks. Nancy catches the prince taking small amounts of money from the queen, Mrs. Alexandria. Her grandson is also has very bad manners for a prince. What's going on with the prince? Read the book to find out! If you enjoy this suspenseful book, be sure to read the rest of the series!

I read tons of books all of the time, whether it is at school, at my public libray, or at my house, and this is by far the most phenomonal book I have ever read! Do not depend on people who dislike this book to give you the right answer because mostly anybody who reads this book knows it is an enjoyable book to read. This astonishing Nancy Drew book is full of cliffhangers, excitement, and most of all, suspense. I reccomend this book to readers who are in to suspense, action, and undiscovering suprises.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Clue in the Jewel Box, December 5, 2008
This mystery had a fun and different twist to it because it was about a former queen and prince. I enjoyed reading about how Nancy used her quick thinking, to solve the mystery.
