Product Description

Kakuro is a logic puzzle that crosses Sudoku with crossword puzzles to produce a challenging and addictive number puzzle.

The aim of the game is to fill all the blank squares in the grid with only the numbers 1-9 so that the numbers you enter add up to corresponding clues, and no number is duplicated in any entry. When the grid is filled, the puzzle is complete.

This pack includes 100 puzzles - 25 Gentle, 25 Moderate, 25 Tough and 25 Diabolical. Your progress for all puzzles is shown in the menu and you can restart a puzzle and try to beat your best time. You can enter pencil marks to help you solve the puzzles and there is also an auto pencils feature which calculates the pencil marks for you automatically. You can also turn on auto check, which highlights incorrect numbers. If you like more of a leisurely puzzle then you can hide the timer.

Cluemaster supplies puzzles to numerous newspapers across the world including the Daily Telegraph and Chicago Tribune. All our puzzles are expertly graded to give you the best possible enjoyment.

Give Kakuro a try and you could well be hooked!

5.0 out of 5 stars More Kakuro, please! January 2, 2012
Verified Purchase
I would much rather have more Kakuro and less Suduko because they're more "fun" and challenging to me. If you haven't tried this type of puzzle, please give it a whirl; don't be intimidated by the appearance. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised, and once you've completed a puzzle, you'll really enjoy the feeling you get that you've solved it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kakuro beats Sudoku hands down for challenging fun! January 6, 2013
Verified Purchase
I came across Kakuro several years ago in the newspaper but there was usually only 1 puzzle per week and that was not enough. When I found this on Amazon, I grabbed it and boy am I glad I did. These games can be overwhelming at first for the newbie, but give the easy puzzles a chance - learn the basics and soon you will be amazed at your math skills and brain power. Yes, you have to think a bit more than if you are playing Sudoku. If you like brain games with numbers, than you will love Kakuro. Easy interface, easy to move from game to game, save a game and return later, 4 levels of games - gentle, moderate, tough and diabolical. 100 puzzles in all - you can erase a game and try again so you never run out of games really. Lots of help available with an auto check feature, set possibles option and a timer to test your speed if you need more of a challenge. Best game I have on my Kindle.

4.0 out of 5 stars All good except contrast November 16, 2012

The puzzles work well, but the use of the "grid background" in gray and the numbers in white is very straining for my middle-aged eyes to see. In spite of that, I am working my way through each one because they are very enjoyable math puzzles and the game's interface is otherwise quite reasonable.

I have always loved this game in my logic problem magazines. I was excited to see that this is now available on my kindle. It allows me to type in number clues while I solve it.

Have you ever played Kakuro?
I love Kakuro and find it much more challenging and interesting than Sudoku. Most people I talk to have never heard of it, though.
