5.0 out of 5 stars Chip has a love interest, January 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Clutch Hitter (Paperback)
Peggy Armstrong is about as close as Chip gets to being interested in girls in these early Chip Hilton books, but she is a match for him. Too bad he has to go back to Valley Falls at the end of the book. He could have been manager, star and gotten the girl, too. Good reading for all kids--girls included.

3.0 out of 5 stars Winning a Championship, March 6, 2007
By
CCS Middle School (Fairless Hills, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Clutch Hitter (Paperback)
Have you ever felt like giving up on something, have u ever tried and tried and failed each time. This is a rate of 8 out of 10 because it really tells the life of how people fail and do not give up. This book is a lesson on not giving up, standing up and trying again. This book will teach you to not be afraid. After reading this book you feel like doing the things you always fail and fail. This book also teaches you to have faith in what you are doing. Reading this book will change your life.

In the state of Michigan people wanted to make up teams for football. It was hard because the younger people didn't want to play football so they want to get paid for playing this sport. The people didn't have the money to pay the people money for football. The people try to make a deal with the people that they wanted to play for football. The players made a deal with the people that wanted to make football teams. Later on in the year a team was made, the team was called there team the Michigan Braves. The only thing the people wanted to do was try to find other teams so they can verse them. Other teams didn't want to verse them because the team was a little small. After the Situation was over they started the season of baseball.

Well after the first three games started they got crushed all the times. Team had no faith in each other so they would lose games. The team would always fight with each other and does not play as a team; they thought working by them selves would be better than working as a team. Then after losing their forth game in a row they realized that they were not doing well on their own. So the team said sorry to each other and confessed what they did wrong and worked it out. The team also realized by working in a team so much can be done and it will be easier. They won the rest of their games and went on to the Championship. At the Championship the team was a little worried, but thinking back at working together and having faith, and not giving up.

As the story ends with a great championship, the was so happy because just having faith in something can help you a lot in what your doing! This team after won two more championships in row. The good part about this book was having the faith part in all things that you do. A special and great example is in math class, that some people work on the project twice and they already give up. Well this is a perfect example for all the subjects people do in this school, if they have faith then they will do fine. This book would be recommended to people like eighth grade. All we do is slack in school. Out of this entire book was great in all ways.
