This Is The Worst Documentary I Have Ever Seen.,
By
This review is from: Cnn: War in the Gulf/from the Invasion of Kuwait to the Day of Victory and Beyond (Paperback)
During the Gulf War, CNN's coverage was magnificent. I was one of those addicts who watched every minute. So I was waiting for this series with great anticipation. Was I ever disappointed! So many wonderful scenes were left out (like that cruise missle seen right passing outside the hotel room). In place of the real news was segment after segment of mush, meaning interviews of sappy questions, like "how did you feel when..." and asking widows how they felt. Moreover, there was a lot of repitition, down to the dialog. Most of the "fighting" scenes were from old training films, the offensive graphics were in your face all the time. It was really bad, even hard to stick with. I finally gave up. Anyone want my set? Otherwise it gets what it deserves, a couple of hard smashes between a rock and my sledge hammer.

I have to say this is an book for someone to not have only pick up but also to read about over a dozen times as well as using it as back up for an an assignment on the Persian Gulf War. Plus, the book has helped me quite a bit to understand what had happened before Iraq invaded Kuwait on the faithful day back in August of 1990 and about the different leaders and their respective countries throughout the Arabic speaking Middle East which include leaders such as Hafiz Al Assad of Syria, King Hussein of Jordan, Saddam Hussein of Iraq, King Fahd of Saudi Arabia,Hosni Mubarak of Egypt as well as other countries such as Yemen, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and the Palestinians and their famous leader Yasser Arafat and their countries respective stances on the tough but important regional issue of the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq and the Persian Gulf War taking place between two neighboring Arabic speaking countries.
