Excellent practical how-to guide that promotes cooperation.,

This review is from: Co-Parenting After Divorce: How to Raise Happy, Healthy Children in Two-Home Families (Paperback)
I am a psychiatrist with a full time private practice. I see individuals and couples, often in great pain. I welcome any tool that can help promote health and healing. Co-Parenting After Divorce definitely fits the bill. I have recommended this easy to read how-to guide time and again and have been very pleased with the results. To succeed as co-parents after divorce, couples who have been unable to make their marriage last must create a new working relationship. Co-Parenting After Divorce is a useful tool to help newly divorced parents focus on their children in a constructive way in spite of their differences. For anyone going through this painful and difficult time, I heartily recommend this book.

Practical help on doing right by your kids after divorce.,

Diana Shulman is to be commended! This is a marvelous, straight to the point little book that helped my ex and I get our heads on straight about how to keep our children's mental health intact. It's punchy and practical with lots of day-to-day hints on making the shuffle between Mom's and Dad's households as simple and untraumatic (for everyone) as possible. It's amazing how much useful wisdom can come in such a small, inexpensive package. If you are co-parenting a child you won't regret buying this book.

Short, practical and very inviting to read, this self-help book for divorcing parents imparts sound, useful information on a variety of topics including: telling your children about divorce, communicating with an "ex," handling different parenting styles, helping children cope with their feelings and helping parents handle their own feelings.

Why ruin your kids while you try to re-invent the wheel?,

This review is from: Co-Parenting After Divorce: How to Raise Happy, Healthy Children in Two-Home Families (Paperback)
My simple message: Do yourself and your kids a favor. Get this book. It covers mundane stuff like keeping Junior's socks from piling up at dad's house as well as the heavier issues, like how to not turn your kids into weapons. Don't try to go it alone. It was the best money I spent in a long time.

This is a wonderful book that helped me and my ex solve so many of the problems--large and small--that hassle us and ultimately spilled over into our childrens' lives. If you can only buy one book on co-parenting, this is it. The knowledge you'll gain from it is the best gift you can give your kids.

If you're distraught about any aspect of your divorce and you want some immediate first-aid, this is a great book. I have followed a lot of the suggestions and find myself referring to it over and over again. It's easy to get into and you can start in anywhere, topic by topic.

As a father, I wanted to co-parent my daughter during my divorce, which unfortunately turned very nasty after lawyers got involved. This book at least helped me clearly define and compartmentalize my feelings and the issues, so that I could rationally deal with trying to hammer out an agreement.

This review is from: Co-Parenting After Divorce: How to Raise Happy, Healthy Children in Two-Home Families (Paperback)
This book is a very easy read. But it deals only on a very surface level with the issues around a co-parenting relationship. I was looking for advice with more "meat" than this books provides. Whereas it does provide a simple "how to" approach to problem solving, it does not provide much insight into the issues nor does it provide much insight into how some of these approaches may be received.

This little book was incredibly comforting and helpful through some really stressful moments. The best part was that I actually convinced my ex (or, I should say "co-parenting partner") to read it! - an amazing feat. I recommend to everyone experiencing this painful process.
