As a grandparent i feel this children's book is a step above others. Not just to read to your grandchildren but also has activities that are easy to do with them. It is not just crafts nor just a cute story but a combination. we grandparents are always looking for fun things to do with little ones and this is perfect.

I don't review many books, but I just had to share how much my girls (ages 6 and 2) enjoyed this book. As a part-time stay-at-home dad I'm always looking for new and different things to do with my kids so when I saw this book also included silly recipes based on the book and had some craft ideas, buying it was a no-brainer, sight unseen. But when I got it I was surprised to find how great the story actually was. My girls loved it. And they loved making recipes they could relate to via the book like Larry's Snot Treats (no, there's no real snot involved.) And the crafts are a lot of fun to do. Can't wait for the sequel!

I bought this book for two girls ( 8 and 5) and they both just loved it. The story was sweet and unexpected with the kind of occasional gross out humor kids really enjoy. The illustrations are thoughtfully drawn in a beautifully crafty sort of way. Coco Levine is perfect for these last few weeks of summer - when school is still out and there's nothing new to do. Why not read together and then cook or craft up some of the projects Miss Levine offers at the end? Great book for girls but boys will get a kick out of it too.

My daughter is huge on both Pinkalicious and Fancy Nancy (we've got all the spin-offs of both titles) and I felt like after reading so many lame knockoffs that Coco Levine actually belongs right up there on the shelf. Like Pinkalicious and Nancy titles, the book is clever without being cutesy and, most importantly, isn't bratty. The craft/recipe section at the end was fun and do-able, added to the experience. Good one!
