Michele Bredice Craemer is a runner who appreciates the joy and life lessons that running offers. Along with many running races, she has also participated in adventure races. One of her favorites included crawling through a mud pit, and carrying a mountain bike over her head while getting through water up to her chin. Along with being an author, she is also a speaker on topics of wellness, motivation and goal setting, and a busy mom of 2 boys.

I love this little book and so do my schoolchildren. I read it to them and used it for a couple of language arts lessons. It's perfect for teaching sequencing. "What were the 3 things that CoCo did in his triathlon?"
It's also fun for the children to create and write about their own multi-events. And of course children love to discuss why Coco is "Number 1". Coco's story reminds us all - kids and adults alike - of the attitudes we need to embrace to enjoy athletic events for a lifetime.

This is a wonderful follow up to Pellie Runs a Marathon... Coco is a lovable lab who is adorable and wonderfully rendered by illustrator Jessica Golden. Children who loved Pellie will fall in love again with Coco - message is excellent - great for a wide array of ages - my 8 year old enjoyed it even though he is reading "chapter books" now. Wonderful gift for dog lovers too!
