5.0 out of 5 stars These ideas actually work really well
When I first started going to seminars by Bob Logan, I wondered if his material actually would help church leaders or if it was more theory that just sounded good. I started coaching churches in a wide array of settings. I found that when I followed Bob's methods, the results were superior over times when I did not follow his recommendations.

I was dissapointed with Dr. Logans book on coaching. It was worth the read and I was able to check it out from the church library but it didn't give me much information but rather solidified information that I already heard before. I would suggest Dr. Crabb's book.

5.0 out of 5 stars These ideas actually work really well, November 3, 2006
This review is from: Coaching 101: Discover the Power of Coaching (Paperback)
When I first started going to seminars by Bob Logan, I wondered if his material actually would help church leaders or if it was more theory that just sounded good. I started coaching churches in a wide array of settings. I found that when I followed Bob's methods, the results were superior over times when I did not follow his recommendations.

This is one author who really seems to be an expert in his field. His ideas are simple, biblical, functional, and really do work well.

I suppose these ideas which were developed for church leaders, could really work in any setting where people are leading other people. Any leader can learn a lot from this book. So I recommend it for all categories/applications, all the way from a baseball little league team, to managing/leading a large corporation.

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful Intro to Christian Coaching, May 4, 2005
This review is from: Coaching 101: Discover the Power of Coaching (Paperback)
Bob Logan is America's premiere expert on personal coaching and discipleship. Coaching 101: Discover the Power of Coaching is a great intro to what it is all about. Seasoned leaders need not fear that it is too basic, as Logan has invested his year's of wisdom into this book. Great primer for distribution to leaders throughout your church as well. The book cover the five R's of Coaching: Relate, Reflect, Refocus, Resource, Review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review for Coaching 101, February 17, 2012

This review is from: Coaching 101: Discover the Power of Coaching (Paperback)
I have been a church consultant and pastoral coach for the past seven years and this book by Bob Logan is a must read. He takes you through the five R's of relational levels. He gives you some powerful coaching questions and teaches you how to ask a proper question that will cause your coachee to go to a deeper level of relationship. I suggest you couple the book with a subscription to Coachnet. This is also a great tool and a creation of Bob Logan and Gary Reineke. Logan is a guru on the subject of coaching and I recommend it to everyone who has an interest in mentoring, leading, and coaching others to success in their lives.

I have read another of Pastor Logans book on church leadership and it helped me grow and this is worth the time to read but anyone with a bit of knowledge in listening skills and communication will probably not get a lot from the pages. Dr Logan is dependable and won't lead you astray.

This book has helped me understand the importance of listening and helping folks to find their focus and not to just try to solve everyone's problems. I've used the tactics already and it really works!
