5.0 out of 5 stars Clear, practical, excellent - made a real difference to me, June 13, 2005
This book is recommended by Stephen Covey - I'm not surprised. It's written in a simple style, yet covers both basic and advanced coaching skills. Things like beliefs and values of a coach, postures on a conversation, as well as the foundation skills such as deep listening and purpose based questioning. I particularly like the simple exercises you can do in everyday life - they really helped me to dramatically improve my coaching ability and confidence.

I think this book is great!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! Another great coaching book!!, November 20, 2005
This book is awesome! It should have been titled "The Training Manual" I've bought several books on the subject of personal coaching, and I have to admit, I wish I had found this one first. Everything is outlined in an easy to read and interesting format. This book is actually the only coaching manual one would need. I purchased this book along with "The Life Coaching Handbook" and the two totally compliment one another. This author really touches every aspect of 'Personal Coaching' without all the unneccessary "fluff" that most manuals give you. This author is definately in touch with the practice of Professional Coaching.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific book, July 30, 2006
Thank you Julie for writing such a valuable and insightful book. This is super solid grounding for a prospective coach. It is written out of obvious expertise and with compassion and respect for coach and coachee.

The book is very well organized and includes numerous tips and exercises. An added bonus is the book's attractive format and art.

My only criticism (very minor) is reserved for the proofreader. A few typos and ommissions crept into the text, however they don't interfere with the smooth read and the valuable subject matter. Very highly recommended.
