The book gives the reader a detailed approach to coaching this defense in a practical easy to understand format. I enjoyed the simplicity of the information and recommend the book to all defensive coaches looking to change up their game. Offensive coaches might want to take a look too...

This book is very well written. One of the better defensive scheme books I have ever read. Easy terminology, great diagrams, and very thoroughly written. If you are looking for a book for a scheme or just trying to find extra defensive knowledge, I would recommend this book.

I bought Coach Gordon's book to learn more about the under front defense. I can honestly say it was more than worth the money. Coach Gordon's book has helped us at two different schools. In my opinion it is in the top 3 books on defense football you can own

This is an excellent book. It is about the 50 Under Front Defense and is well written and easy to understand. I use this defense as a variation of my Base 3-4 Defense and just may start using this defense as my Base from now on. This book provides you with all the position alignments, adjustments, and coverages that you would need to successfully install this Defense. It includes a chapter on defending the common offensive attacks you may encounter, including the basic Spread. This book has provided me with many concepts that I can actually use. This is highly recommended reading for any Base 50 or 3-4 Defensive Coordinator.

This book is very thorough with concepts that translate easily to high school football. No matter what defense your team runs, at the very least, you can implement some of Coach Gordon's concepts. We are going to be implementing a lot of the fronts and coverage concepts in the spring to prepare for the upcoming season. If you are a defensive coordinator, this book is a must read.

My knowledge base has grown since reading this book. This book explains the concepts behind the under front with great detail. Reading this book makes one a better student of the game. Its worth the $ regardless if this is the defense you settle on using.

Such a great book on the Under Front. One of my favorites in my football Library....Great for any Defensive coach or D coordinator. I also believe an Offensive Coordinators could benefit from it as well. You can't beat the price as well, well worth it.

Coach Gordon's book is considered a classic by those in the know for a number of reasons. The author presents the basics of the defense in an understandable way; he presents the theory along with the practical implementation. Too often, concepts are presented in either too abstract a fashion (making them difficult to implement in practice) or too concrete (making them difficult to utilize in a variety of situations). Coach Gordon strikes an excellent balance of the two without assuming a condescending or authoritative tone.

I appreciated that Coach presented the defense by stating (paraphrasing here) that "this is how we do it; it is not the only way to do it, but here is what we need to accomplish." In doing so, he made it clear what the objectives were and how their scheme, technique, and teaching methods were designed to accomplish those objectives. This made it easy to incorporate the essential ideas from his scheme into our existing scheme so that we, as a staff, would not have to scrap years of experience to implement some of his ideas.

In short, if you have any interest at all in implementing the under front or ideas related to it, you owe it to yourself to read this book.
