In addition, the text describes how to teach baseball techniques and strategies; explains how to detect and correct common errors made by young baseball players; outlines 27 drills that will develop players' skills and teamwork; illustrates offensive and defensive team tactics, including signalling plays, baserunning strategies, relays and cutoffs, and pitching strategies; and addresses special considerations for T-ball. The book's helpful appendixes furnish a sample season plan for beginning baseball players and resources for working with children with disabilities.

The author does not know the actual fundamentals of baseball, incorrect hitting an bunting techniques. concentrates on the politics of youth baseball and not drills and skills.

This book does cover more of the non-technical aspects of being a youth coach, but it does a good job at covering those. Many of these items are not covered in other books, so it is very helpful. Perhaps not as good as a "... for Dummies" guide might be, which are much better than their titles indicate, but it comes close. Certainly worth checking out.
