I read all three books in the trilogy. I laughed so hard at some of the antics of kids growing up without toys and making their own fun. I also enjoyed the author's used of "Appalachian Speak." It brings back so many memories of how my grandparents and just about everyone I knew, ....spoke so many years ago. I can hear their accent ringing in my ears still today. I absolutely loved all three books and I would recommend these three books to anyone who has lived in a coal camp, or have family members who grew up in one or to historians who want to preserve those precious days. These books would make wonderful Christmas gifts.
