It's amazing what the human voice can do. Borrowing from different styles of overtone and harmonic singing, this group really creates an atmosphere. Easy to get lost in while listening and that's a good thing.

Jim Cole and Spectral Voices are simply amazing. It is impossible to put to words the experience of this art form. I was fortunate enough to have Jim and Alan perform in person and found (which I didn't think possible) it is even more stunning to hear them live. This music will take you places, where I think depends on you. While I was watching them perform I saw a family friend I invited to the event holding his grandchild, and playing with her. Although he never realized it while he was playing with her he was harmonizing (by humming) with Jim and Alan, and so was the baby. This album will be anything from soothing to life changing.

This is a conept that will take you far beyond the imagination, all those out there initiated to the Reiki light will definatley appreciate the energy this type of music exudes!! I will be using this a lot with my treatments. Even without any Reiki at all this seems to lift the atmosphere of any room it is played in. Truly a heavenly CD..... Get it now! Even if your not a Reiki practitioner this is the perfect wind down/chill out/meditation CD I have come across for a long time, can't really see how Jim Cole can top this one.

This is a wonderful album. It has an ambiance to it that other overtone singing albums do not have. The overtones are the main focus of the music, and are not just a "special effect" add on, as heard on some other albums.

Call it coincidence or synchronicity, but like another reviewer, I've also been attuned as a Reiki healer, and think this album would make for excellent music while giving Reiki treatments.

I absolutely love this music. In just two days of listening to "Coalescence" it's already become one of my
favorite ambient music albums. Along with Stars of the Lid's "Tired Sounds" and Harold Budd's "The Pearl", it bring my soul to a vast, distant, peaceful dimension where everything is pure, honest, and full of meaning. It is both beautiful in its own right and also excellent functional music for reading, writing, dreaming, walking, hiking, driving, and everything else.

I first heard this album (and those other guys' work) on the web radio station "Drone Zone", http://somafm.com/. Every few months I download about 4 hours' worth of it and then investigate where all the tracks came from. I heard
your track "Shimmering Silhouettes", and that alone, on repeat, powered me through the CFA Examination Level II. It's that good.

There is also something incredibly atmospheric about this recording. It was recorded in a water tower in the middle of a forest in Connecticut, with the door open. If you listen very closely, on some tracks you can hear summer breezes, rain, and particularly birds. The songs of the Wood Thrush and the Eastern Towhee sound particularly beautiful in combination with the singing and endless echoes of the tower.

I want to thank Jim for doing the hard work in making his musical idea a reality, and giving so many people a personal gateway into that mysterious, peaceful land. :)
