This isn't as great as their awe-inspiring first album, '21 and over', but it's still a damn fine bunch of tunes.. nice beats and samples (if lacking the old-skool crunch of '21 and over'), well-chosen guests who aren't too intrusive, and best of all, no gangsta pretentions - just straight up party-style MCing that'll make you realise just how wack the average rapper is these days compared to the glory of the 80s..
watch out for the highlight, 'flashback', which pays amusing homage to everyone from parliament to the sugarhill gang.

A great album with slammin beats, strong basslines, a lyrics that make you say "damn". WLIX is one of the greatest freestyles i've ever heard. Great Party music, or music to just cruise too.

This album was way underhyped and thus overlooked by most rap fans. The production is great by E-Swift and Diamond D. The Lik's are great lyricists who can really tear the mic up. Q-Tip, King Tee, and Xzibit all guest star. Flashback is an ode to old school rap but this album is definitely cutting edge.

This was a tight follow up to their classic first album. The beats were nicely produced and mixed again and they came with some tight flows ripping their tracks up again. Their styles compliment eachother on their tracks, you can see how well they flow when they flip the mic to eachother. This was the first time I heard xzibit also who's album came out a year after. This was the good sh#t in 95 while their were others in the westcoast that would make a whole album about bulls#it with bulls#it lyrics that wouldn't touch just the intro on here. Theres another appearance from the local lootpack too. The only thing that would have been good is if they had put 'coast 2 coast' which was used in 'friday' on too. But still, its an excellent album taking it back to the oldschool of real hip hop. There was a lot put into this album. If you like REAL hip hop, make sure you get this if you haven't like these other smart people here have. Peace!

The Liks put out a solid album with 'Coast 2 Coast' ....The beats are laid back but always thumpin'....'Dayyum" is a personal fav of mine .....Another great track is 'flashback' where they pay homage to the old school partying days...That track also features a young Xzibit...

Great album...you wont be disappointed

When will drunk, pot-smokin', and musical karaoke alcoholics put a record out? Oh wait, I'm talking about this album, but I mean that statement in a good way. Hip-Hop from the West Coast is almost famous in a sense of the "old school" and since this album came out in 1995 it is considered by some as "old school"; I think it could be with a respect to most of the choruses and "hooks". Give mad respect to Madlib for making a debut for a start to a wonderful career as DJ, Producer, and Rapper; as he mixed and matched beats of piano, bass, and "house party beats".

I went to the fridge and grabbed a 40, sat down, and am finishing this drunken review. It is my 2nd 40 (of Old E of course!), since I am on track 7 ("Daam!") listening to the flows with too many head-noddin' beats and with a chorus full of "Daam!!!" Forget the rest of the review, just buy the album, for real!
