"Tactical" flashlights have been an item of interest for me for several years. The problems were high cost and high operating cost because they ran on non-rechargeable lithium batteries. The P14 reaches out there with 200 lumens* and claims to run 150 hours* on four AA's! At its quite reasonable price I couldn't resist any longer. Mine weighs in at 382 grams and has worked as expected. I heard about it through Search and Rescue and recommend it to my hiking friends because most of us have already standardized on dirt-cheap AA's for flashlights, GPS and radio devices.
*specs are from manufacturer; battery life may be for "low" power, which is enough to read by and probably OK around camp.

The on-off power level switch is at the back end. The high of the three powers only works when you hold the back end button down all the time. This requires two hands. I suggest the P17 model if you need a high intensity, one handed flashlight.

I wanted a aa light with good throw. I did not think I was going to destroy it in a week and turns out I did not. Fine light adjustable lens wide to tight long throw. I ran over it after checking truck batteries and jump starting at 3am. Backed out and saw the flashlight mashed into the ground. I was sick. Pulled it out of the sand & rock nicked the tube cleaned it off. It worked and still working. Fine light.

Had this for a year now and very impressed. Long battery life and excellent performance. Rceommend highly, pay the man and get out of the dark.

This is an excellent flashlight, well made, and easy to focus. And, it is BRIGHT! Was on the 11th floor of a hotel on the Gulf and shone it into the surf. It was like I was standing on the beach next to the water...it lit it up that well. Holding the button in makes it even brighter, temporarily. You could probably disorient someone by shining into their eyes, if they were bothering you and you wanted to get away. The switch cycles from normal-bright to lower-bright to off, so remember to push the button twice to shut totally off. Pushing the front of the flashlight back and forth to focus is very easy and quick. Super flashlight!

Seriously - disregard that it is an LED. Disregard that it has a real world battery life of a hundred hours+. It's still the best flashlight money can buy!!

Had the light less than six months with pretty mild usage and ALREADY starting to fail at the switch. I contacted the company a couple months ago about getting it repaired but NO ONE REPLIED...
save your money.. DON'T BUY THIS LIGHT..
