I was browsing [...] for videos when i ran into a video comparing Coastal Scents to MAC. So i thought, "i have to try this stuff out..." I'm a college student so i CANNOT afford MAC however for $25 including shipping, i can afford Coastal Scents' 88 eye shadow shimmer palette. I went to [...] and bought this palette, i received it in 3 days and i am VERY impressed by the quality of the product. I went out and bought the Too Faced Shadow Insurance for $17 at Sephora since everyone keeps raving about how the shadow stays on the whole day and touch ups are not required. So i applied the primer and then i put the shadow on top it this morning, it's almost 10pm and my eye shadow hasn't creased or faded!!!! The eye shadow is VERY pigmented and the colors are beautiful! All the eye shadows are very shimmery, if you don't like that, Coastal Scents does have the same palette but not in shimmer. Some of the colors are very out there, so if you aren't really into blues, greens, pinks, and purples then this palette might not be for you, if you're more into the warmer shades, Coastal Scents does have an 88 shadow warm palette that i'll be ordering tonight. All in all i'm very happy with my purchase. The shadows are dimed sized but they should last a long time since you will only need to apply it once a day and touch ups will not be required. The pot sizes are a lot smaller than MAC's but then again a MAC pot costs $14+ and this palette has 88 colors for $25 so this is definitely a steal! The colors are beautiful and i'm so happy i have found quality makeup for such a low price.

I love shimmery colors but these were over the top. I wish I'd stuck with my initial thought to go with the matte as I read it has matte, satin and shimmer colors. These shadows are very vibrant but if you plan to ONLY use this palette for everyday wear then stick to the matte as these would be too frosty for work and even for a casual look. I also found that these shadows are very powdery and leave a lot of glitter fall out. All in all I think these shadows are better suited for the evening. I would recommend the original 88 palette bc you can always add your own shimmer on top giving you more control on the look you're trying to achieve.

I am a cosmetologist and found this makeup palette to be of hight quality for the money. I was so impressed that I just purchased 2 more, one for my niece and another for myself. It is fun to experiment with all the colors, I get to try combinations that would just be too expensive if I had to buy them individually. There is something to go with every outfit! I use MAC foundation and the Coastal Scents eye shadow lasts all day with that foundation. I use brushes instead of the sponge applicators because the brushes release the pigment onto the eyelid where it belongs, whereas the sponge type just absorb the color.

I was very excited about this product at first! It seemed that the youtube videos did it justice as well! However it's not all it's cracked up to be. I was worried because I am an African American woman and I was afraid that the colors wouldn't be as vibrant on my brown skin tone... I was right, not only that but once you apply the shadow and go to blend it, it disappears and looks cheap. I mean sure you can pack it on but who wants to do that??? I tried swatches on my arm and they look great there but they don't go on the eye the same way... I have dollar tree make-up that seems to coat better! I also use primer and it still looks bad... Disappointed you guys, and I have the BH COSMETIC EDITION 1 & 2 on the way... Hope they are better. (from the looks of things they are probably the same way) Hope this helps, save your $$$ Black Women!!!

I have found that this product works best with eye primer from MAC...

I had been shopping around online for a decently priced, dencently made eyeshadow palette when I found this. I ordered it on the 31st and it was here by the 2nd in excellent condition. Very carefully wrapped, in fact it was a little hard to get out! When I did finally get it out I was amazed! The colors are indeed very beautiful! I'm not gonna say they're of the same quality as MAC or Urban Decay but for the price you pay you're getting a good deal! The only bad thing I could say about this is its very delicate, I'm a VERY klutzy girl and dropped it and a lot of the colors broke, not completely but I still wish that they could idiot proof it. All in all I love this palette it works with my personality, skin tone and age. I'd suggest this to anyone under 40! Gonna get the warm palette next because this one has mostly bright colors, I need some "grown up" make up as well, haha.

I got this as a birthday present from my best friend & I ABSOLTELY LOVE IT! Not only are the colors beautiful & shimmery, but it's quality is EXCELLENT! It glides on easily and blends beautifully! It isn't a crappy matte product at all! I am an instant Coastal Scents fan & will definitely will be ordering more eyeshadow palettes from them! At such a great price, you should not pass this up! A must have for all eyeshadow lovers!

They are the size of a dime and yes some of the eye shadows may pop out randomly so be very careful. A lot of people that have brought this palette had to use super glue to make sure they stay in. But otherwise! This is a decent palette for 18.95! It gets no better than this. I manage to do the smokey eye look by using this palette I will consider buying the warm colors maybe sometime in the summer or spring depending how the money is flowing. I really love it the shimmer eye shadow speaks for itself I feel like it has it's own voice when you enter the room because trust me all eyes will be on your eyes! No infomercial here lol.. but seriously try this product there is NOTHING to lose. Just be careful on handling the case or you could break them. P.S. - I would recommend using the urban decay primer to help the colors last throughout the day.

I ordered this 88 ultra shimmer palette on Tuesday May 11 and I recieved it on saturday May 15. QUick shipping was great since i was so excited to recieve this product after watching countless videos on youtube where people highly recommended this, and i wanted to try it so badly. I fell in love with the colors once i opened the palette, there are so many too choose from and the pigmentation is unbelieveable!!! There is every color that you could possibly want. This palette really impressed me. Honestly, there are endless possibilties when using this. You will be able to create countless looks with gorgeous, high quality eyeshadows. This is a great deal and its totally worth every penny.!! I do not regret buying this at all, it lived upto all my expectations since i adore shimmery looks, this was perfect for me..i would completely recommend this for anyone who likes shimmer. The colors / pigmentation will not let you down!

I ACTUALLY WEAR MAC BUT WE ALL KNO TRYNA BUY EVERY MAC EYESHADOW CAN BE EXPENSIVE,SO I DID MY HOMEWORK AND READ ALOT OF REVIEW ABOUT THIS EYESHADOW AND THEY WERE ALL GREAT.SO I PURCHASED THE 88 PALETTE SHIMMER AND EVEN THOUGH THE EYESHADOWS ARE DIME SIZE,YOU DONT HAVE TO APPLY MUCH ITS BEAUTIFUL AND YOU DNT NEED NO PRIMER TO MAKE IT STAY IVE WENT TO BED TO LAZY TO WIPE IT OFF AND WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING AND IT WAS STILL BEAUTIFUL AND DIDNT SMUGE AT ALL I LOVE IT AND PLAN ON BUYING MORE COLORS REALLY SOON.

I am a cosmetologist and i ordered this to play around with and the colors are pretty good but if youre like me and you like super bright shiny high pigment colors u have to get ur brush wet to make them really stand out or theyre kind of flat. For the price theyre good to play around with but if youre looking for something very comparable to bed head or mac u would have to use them with water to make them stand out. fun stuff tho lots of cool colors!
