Although this product was relatively easy to assemble, and the overall design is aesthetically pleasing and was received in good condition and rapid fashion; there remains the invariable fact that the design of this chair is flawed beyond repair.

Within 2 days of using the the chair it developed a rather noisy squeak. It is to be expected that a wood product will give off some noise due to variances in temperature and humidity etc, however on the third day, the arms separated from the back with a loud crack.
The arms are joined to the back via two dowel rods and glue. The one point in the design where all the downward and backward stresses of the sitter/rocker are focused, is held together by wood and glue... throughout the rest of the chair a series of brass alloy screws and lock nuts are used which is fine if not overkill. The one point where screws and lock-nuts would do the most good, they are lacking.

As there are two dowel rods which support the focal point of stress on such a small supporting beam, it is impossible to replace the dowels with screws as the pre-drilled holes have already compromised the integrity of the beam.

Nice looking? yes. Quality? no. Firewood? not unless you like clouds of toxic fumes from the lacquer.

For the money, I was expecting more. The quality is just "okay". The spindles on the side of the chair arms seem flimsy. Comes in a flat box - which you must assemble entirely. The wood is a softer Brazilian pine, not the traditional oak (though obviously that would have meant a much larger price tag). Overall was a bit of a disapointment.

DO NOT waste your money or time with this product!!! This is my first time ever submitting an online review of any product. This rocker is so awful, I just had to.

Where do I begin?
I purchased this rocker for my son's nursery. We haven't even had this rocker for a full year! At the time, it seemed like a beautiful rocker that could be used not only to rock our baby boy in his cozy nursery, but later be used as a lovely interchangeable piece in our home (living room? den? reading room?). I am a 5'5", 117lb woman, and my husband is 5'5" and slender as well. Our baby boy enjoys tiny gentle rocks back and forth, so we are not "violent" rockers either. Keep in mind... tiny people, tiny rocks back and forth. Proceed reading :)

All of the following occurrences below, happened within months of owning this rocking chair.

1st RED FLAG: CHOKING HAZARD FOR INFANTS & SMALL CHILDREN

Within a month or two, several of the tiny, dime sized, aesthetic wooden pegs that are glued on the wood framing to cover the screws, began to pop off. As they popped off from time to time, one by one, each time I found myself scanning the floor on my hands and knees trying to find each peg to avoid a serious choking hazard for my crawling infant.

2nd RED FLAG: PHYSICALLY UNSAFE! ROCKER LEG CAME OFF, CAUSING ROCKER TO COLLAPSE ON ONE SIDE

At the same time, while rocking my son one afternoon (keep in mind... tiny gentle rocks), one of the rocker legs came off. Yes. You read correctly. The rocker leg came off!!! The left side of the chair collapsed, with my baby still in my arms. Thankfully, no one was injured.

3rd RED FLAG: AGAIN... PHYSICALLY UNSAFE! ENTIRE BACKING OF CHAIR FELL APART

As if that's not enough.

This chair is not a good purchase. It was delivered by FedEx in a cardboard cartoon that was all wet and held together by tape. I spent all morning trying to figure out the directions that were obviously printed in a Chinese factory. Many of the parts look alike, so you have to guess what goes where. Then, after the chair was assembled, I sat in it and the back gave way. There was not enough glue on the dowels that held the back to the seat. There seems to be no way to fix that fault. I went to the hardware store for some "L" braces but those did not work, either. It sits in my bedroom taking up space. I wish I could get my $200 back, but I have no way of returning the chair. The box it came in is mush. Stay away from this one.

This rocker is very nice looking. Dark wood, leather seat. After some use the wood started to crack and splinter and the leather began to crack. The chair lasted a good year and a half until it was unusable without major work being done to it.

The side rails that come preassembled come seperated when you lean back in the chair. The seat is made out of 3/8" particle board and has 4 holes drilled in them. My seat broke within 3 days after assembly. Very poor quality.

I purchased this chair and it will not stay together. After using a super adhesive and re-tightening the bolts, chair will quickly get loose. I will buy another chair but not from this seller.

my expecting daughter was looking for a traditional rocker, dark wood, not an easy thing to find as most new mothers want a glider. At this point, there hasn't been much use, however the rocker appears to be sturdy and is large enough to cuddle with a child, all that we were looking for. Her husband assembled it the afternoon it arrived, and indicated this was easy to assemble.

She's happy with it.
