The two Cobra FRS 235s in this package are easy to use 2-way radios with top-notch features you'd find on more expensive products. The 500mW is right at the FCC limit (you need no license) and will give you a respectable two mile range. Noted features include: lock key, backlit LCD screen, battery saver circuitry, and auto squelch. The radios are also water resistant, making them nice picks for the slopes or the lake. The thirty-eight subchannels give you a bit more privacy than the normal fourteen channel variety 2-ways. Finally, Cobra gives you both a wrist strap and belt clip for you to choose how to keep your radio close at hand. A quality product with a two year limited warranty.

We bought this about 2 1/2 years ago and haven't had any problems with it. We use it almost every day - our daughter takes one when she goes playing with her friends and I keep the other one with me (so we can be in contact at all times).-
I like the 2 mile range, but what I like most about this one, compared to other walkies, are the subchannels, they give you a bit more privacy.

These made it to the bottom of the toy box pretty quickly. Four AAA batteries are just not enough to keep these working long enough for any kind of fun. A shame.
