This Radio worked better than advertised!!! Our main purpose for buying this was to be alerted for severe weather during our crosscountry road trip durning the month of May. The biggest selling point was the fact the radio would turn on if a weather alert was transmitted in your area. The second day on the road we came out to the car after dinner to find the radio on and transmitting a weather alert. It saved us from heading directly into the upcoming storm. This was also very helpful to find out about traffic problems and we used it twice to alert fellow drivers of dangers in the road. I can not recommend this highly enough!!! I will always travel with this radio!!!

this cb is awesome. lets you be creative and lets you have your own settings. easy to calibrate. love the weather scanner. cobra has done an excellent job even the mic is great and clear.

The scan feature is great, the display looks more "modern" and the controls are fairly easy to use. The only thing this CB is missing is side band capability. However the black face/chrome looks great in any interior and works well. The NOAA weather channels work fine with a simple push of a button. Have not tried the PA function yet. The built in speaker is plenty loud for me, I rarely have the volume up past 50%.

There are a couple issues, one the power/volume knob is tiny, makes it hard to switch on depending on where you mount this. The other issue is the unit is pretty long, finding a mounting location that can fit this entire unit is hard if you're trying to integrate it into a vehicle dash.

I've owned a few CB radios in my time and this one by far is the best. I really like the features and the fact the radio can assist with tuning of the antenna which if not correctly tuned affects the transmission and reception of the radio and can cause permanent damage to a CB radio. The display with its choice of colors is also quite nice and so easy to see.

Directly after installing I found my antenna needed a tweak and once tunned my reception was fantastic and people told me how clear my transmissions were. I also like the NOAA weather channels and the fact the radio will sound an alert if there is a severe weather warning. I also connected a PA horn and tried that feature which allows for a very loud broadcast with a simple press of the PA button.

This unit worked great for our last trip across the country. The radio sets up fast. The built-in electronics gave a warning that there was a problem with our antenna that the install shop did not expect. Moving the placement of the antenna to the foreward part of the trunk lid solved this. Weather radio worked great. I liked the fact that I could change the display colors to match the rest of the interior items. The knobs are very easy to use even while driving.

It's a great product, easy to install and operate. I would suggest anyone who buys one to also buy the recommended antenna that fits the radio. I didn't know until purchase that the radio has to be tuned to the antenna you are using. If you purchase the recommended antenna, it's my understanding, no tuning is needed. I would suggest going to a CB shop and having your radio matched to your antenna before using in any event.

After 20 years, I got back into CB radios mainly because this new Cobra 29 radio receives weather channels also. Weather is becomeing an issue in the southwest as well as in other areas who did not have tornados before. I travel in an RV and want to keep up with the weather in the spring especially. This radio has everything a CBer could want in features. It even gave a "check antenna warning" when installing my antenna and the SWR was very high. The reception is excellent, people say it sounds clear, and it pretty. The two outside knobs are really small in diameter. Someone with big fingers might not like them. I really like the scan feature on the CB and weather frequencies. Cobra has been around a long time and still make a quality product, even if it is made in China. Yuck!!

I have mine in my Chevrolet Silverado, which I use for personal and business it works good and I love the weather bands when traveling out to Louisiana ,when I first installed it I used a 4 foot Fire stick antenna and could not get the swr,s to match so I put a 4 foot Francis on it swr,s matched perfect after that I also run Francis on my company semi also with a Cobra 25 all souped up, overall I like the radio and would recommend it to anybody trucking or personal.

Reception was poor compared to my previous pc78 elite until it was peaked and tuned, now it is every bit as good. The lcd meter display is way easier to read at a glance than normal needle type gauges. I also like having the choice of if the weather alert is set to go off or not. Scan monitors for any conversations on other channels.

This thing has a ton of features it's easy to use and gets great tx and Rx. I had a small problem with the unit but sent it back they fixed it and I was back up and running in a week. Great customer service as well
