I have used Cobras for years. They are reliable, and well built. When my old one finally died, after many years of reliable service, I went looking for a replacement, and when I saw this one was Bluetooth enabled, I went with it. I am very pleased. Linkup with my cell phone was quick and easy, and if you have used a radio before, it works just the same. Both hands are free most of the time, and your field of vision is not impacted, the way it is when using a cell phone on the road. In addition, many states are now banning the use of cell phone while driving. But this allows you to continue to use your phone, in a legal manner. (Washington State comes to mind, but there are others.) Almost I am glad my previous one died.

I read the reviews before purchasing this. I was not sure of the wisdom of walking away from Galaxy...however, the Bluetooth feature simply enticed me enough to fork over the money for it. I have tinitus bad (from Marine Corps) and I simply cannot hear my cell over it while driving my Dodge deisel.
However, I was concerned as to whether or not it would work with my cell: a Blackberry Storm. After reading another review, I was also worried about my carrier, Verizon. Yet, I am happy to report, I hooked it up, and after a couple of attempts got it to recognize my phone. BUT...no sooner had I done that, than I lost the channel display! I remember reading another review where the reviewer said he had lost his channel display as well. I could not believe it! So, my first call on the Cobra was TO Cobra technical support LOL I will add, the phonecall was very easy to hear and extremely clear. I held the mic up to my mouth like I normally do when speaking on the radio. Anyway, tech support was busy (not a good sign) so I left a message describing the problem...and no sooner had I hung up than I fiddled with the nobs to familiarize myself further...and that is when I bumped into the dimmer nob. DUH! I did not lose the channel display, I just had the blasted dimmer switch all the way down LOL I was quite relieved it was my own fault and not the radio's. I will update more as I use this radio AS a radio, as well as a phone. Impressed so far:)

works as advertised, didn't even have to punch in the code for my smartphone to lock it in. connects every time I turn it on. Only issue has been that the noise canceling mic, seems to not knock down as much background as anticipated, so I need to roll up the windows to use it with any clarity. CB's have been allowed for over forty years as vehicle communication devices. great multifunction handsfree device. Military installations do not allow head worn bluetooth devices, and for the money, I get a handsfree device that does more than just talk to my phone. I am glad I chose this over installing or initiating the handsfree system in my truck. If you are gonna spend $200 on a handsfree system....definitely look this over. Cheaper bluetooths are available, but none that allow for backup communications.

I gave this to my husband as a gift. He drives a truck and especially likes the bluetooth feature which allows him hands free communications.

I've never had good luck with cb's. Never tried to tune an antennae. That's probably why my reception is weak. But I don't care about that. I appreciate that when on a call I can hear the other person and the hear me clearly. Now as long as DOT leaves CB's alone I'll be fine until I need a new Cobra.

Cobra is an excellent brand of CB radios and this model features everything I need. The Bluetooth feature works perfectly with my iPhone and is very clear while driving, this is saying a lot because I have a soft top Jeep Wrangler which can be very noisy at highway speeds, and if you still can't hear it you can plug in an external speaker. You can also plug in an external mic to clip to your visor, there is one included, if you do not want to use the handheld mic. With a lot of states now requiring a headset to use your phone this will solve your problem. The built in NOAA weather is a great benefit also. The built in SWR is plus, it saves you about $30 from buying one so if you ever need to switch antennas you have it to tune it. The features in this radio are incredible, backed by Cobra's performance and reputation you could not ask for more. I am very pleased with this purchase.

I made it through my second summer with the radio and I have no regrets. When using the Bluetooth I turn the gain all the way up and I can leave the mic hanging to talk, the built in speaker is hard to hear in Bluetooth mode if you have your window down so next summer I'm going to install an external speaker. All and all I'm very happy with the radio.

I got this installed 2 days ago and ran it for the first time on the road this moring. I tried the CB Bluetooth out first thing. There is about a 1-2sec delay in voice transmission/reception and the voice quality was not that great. The tuning part was really easy (I suggest the 4' Firestik). My dad also got a regular Cobra CB and he had a 3' antenna. It did not want to tune right no matter how we adjusted the antenna. I have not made any CB transmission with it so far, just been listening to truckers talking about how they cooked their turkeys.

I had my CB peaked & tuned. Works surprisingly well. I really enjoy not having to fiddle with any wires, headset, or earpieces. I've been using the mic only for calls, haven't tried the external mic yet. You must use the special cobra mic that comes with the radio, it is a 6 pin mic that has the cb & telephone speakers built into one mic. The mic works very well for phone calls, my truck is pretty noisy and people say that this cobra mic blocks ALMOST all of the background noise. Others say that the background noise is very faint, but it doesn't deter from having a good phone conversation. I had a blueparrot, worked great, didn't like the headset feel. I had different earpieces, i couldn't hear them, and they couldn't hear me over all the background noise. With this cb, i only have to turn the volume knob up half way & i can hear wonderfully. The CB portion works well. You're not going to talk 5-10 miles with this radio. You will experience a quality phone conversation balanced with a good 2-5 mile range cb. I recommend the 29 WXNTBT over the 29 LTD because of the extra features of a dimmable switch & nightwatch are worth the extra cost in my opinion. I miss my Galaxy & Road King mic, but now i can have a good coversation where both parties can hear each other. It's a small sacrifice, but, I recommend the 29 WXNTBT.
