This review is from: Cobra CPI 200 CH 200 Watt 12 Volt DC to 120 Volt AC Power Inverter (Electronics)
I got this to use on a long road trip. My nephew brought his laptop computer along and used this inverter to power it on a four hour trip. The unit worked reliably and kept the laptop batter charged. The unit sits nicely in a cup holder but I was not able to use this feature as the unit was put in the back seat with the nephew and the cord was not long enough to reach from the center console to rear cup holder. The cord is about 2 feet long and is the biggest downfall in my opinion.

When the car is on, this inverter makes powering a laptop and charging a cellphone or GPS no problem, but come to a stop and turn off your engine, and the fan inside makes a horrible racket that you just didn't notice with road noise.

overview
The Cobra CPI 200CH is a decent product for those that are on the go and charge their gadets such as iphone/pod, smart phones, small laptops in their cars. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (more detailed review for those interested) The positives: It will charge a lot of gadgets such as iphone/ipod, smart phones, small laptops, portable dvd players, microwaves(just kidding). It fits nicely in a cup holder. It's not ugly like a lot of other car chargers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The negatives: It only has ONE usb outlet and ONE 120 outlet and they are kind of close together so if you have one of those bulky 120 outlet plugs, it might cover the usb outlet. It will sometimes cut off without you realizing it. For some reason, it would cut off after I power it up and I would think that it IS charging only to reach my destination, needing my phone and realizing that it had turned off... The fan(but also a positive). The fan makes a little bit of noise on and off to cool off the overheating, which is good and keeps it safe. But it can become annoying when one is tired, drove a long way, in the dark, and just want some peace and quiet... the good thing about it is that it'll let you know that it IS on... it will NOT charge a big and bulky laptop. the cord is not very long. If your cupholder is in the front, you'll do fine. If your cup holder is in the back(console), you might want to consider an extension. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I would recommend that if one uses a big laptop(15" or more) to check the compatibility and the wattage output/input. now, this is a big puzzle to me, I am not sure why they've named it: COBRA SEE PEE I 200 Chtwohunnerwatttwelfboltdcktojuantwanteegolfackpowderinmurder I don't really see a resemblance to a cobra vs say...an Easter Island Giant Head Statue but I guess calling it an :Easter Island Giant Head Statue CPI 200 Ch 200 Watt 12 volt DC to 120 volt AC power inverter would be too long?????
