I bought this inverter to run my home fridge during power outages. It works great. No problems starting and running the compressor. It even handled a 1/2" drill motor easily.

I picked this one for it's power and voltage display. It allows me to estimate the battery draw so I have an idea how long it will last. I also liked the USB power source, although I have not used that yet.

It does come with nice HEAVY power leads (with clips), although they are very short. Good enough to set right next to a battery and clamp on.

So far, no complaints or problems.

Excellent product, I am using it to run my Directtv,automatic dish, TV, and much more. I am sure I am only using a small amount of its capabilities but works great.

I have these in all 4 of my company's vans to run heavy duty continuous use machines. My old inverters would pop and I would have to turn them off and back on. If these surge it resets itself within less than a second and keeps on truckin. I had to install a solenoid for them to work correctly (my mechanic advised me to do that, I dont know the technicalities) because without the solenoid it wasn't drawing enough power. I have been very impressed with the quality and price of these and will continue to buy them.

Tried several others before this one. main reason for purchase was for a PS3. Once I bought this one the PS3 worked... One caution though. If you use the old PS3 (fat one game play 200watts) the power required will or might give you feed back through the speakers in the form of a hiss. I purchased the newer skinner PS3(only 100 watts) and it was quite. Also I have seen several people use the 800 watt one and there are small lines of distortion from the alternator. This has an extra grounding terminal for chassis ground(below large ground) that seems to clear up this problem... Great product

I bought this to invert stored 12v power from my solar power AGM batteries into 110v power while boondocking in a converted cargo trailer. It does exactly what I wanted, I have run a cooling fan-22" flat screen-coffeemaker-electric razor-charged my cell phone and laptop-digital camera, all works great! The warnings when you are low on voltage coming in will wake you from a sound sleep, which is great! Would buy again!

I put the inverter to work the same day I got it. I hooked it up to the battery on my tractor and plugged a 380 watt submersible pump into it. I was pumping water in no time. The work is being done on a remote tree farm with no electricity.

The inverter furnishes emergency power for my refrigerator in my RV. It seems to work fine. I like the digital readout showing the output. The wires are too short and I find it hard to change to longer wires. I would like a bolt so washer and nut can be used to attach longer wires.

I received my Cobra CPI1000 about a week before hurricane Irene. Very nice heavy duty battery cable/clamps came supplied with it. No problem powering our full sized refrigerator for several days after hurricane Irene put us in the dark. A mid-size marine battery provided about 8 hours run (I used 3, shuffled back and forth to work to recharge). The low voltage piezo alarm which comes on at 11.5V I found annoyingly loud with no way to disable. (yet the inverter works down to 10.5 VDC and the display warns you anyway if battery goes below 11.5). It's on the main circuit board beneath the bottom cover in case you want to cover it with tape or if you're daring, you can wiggle with small pliers to break it's leads off the board.

I bought one of these inverters for my own off grid solar project and loved it so much that I've been selling it on all my solar project installations. The remote switch is a very unique selling feature. I'm really not sure how it is that they can make such a superior product so cheap?!! Also Amazon shipped and I received the item within 3 days after purchasing. Very smooth transaction. Recommend both the product and seller.

I've put this through the ringer! It is amazing how many useful features this has. This is my first experience with an inverter and this one is great. I have overpowered it, and it shut down as it should. I leave it on when i get out of the car and when it gets lower than around 10 volts it shuts off so i will have enough power to start the car when I get back to it. Warning! I tried to run a mini-fridge freezer combo with this and I have to keep it on the lowest setting or it will claim it is being overloaded. Although that is nice, it is well below 1000 watts momentarily when the freezer kicks on but it still shuts down. it even says in the manual that this is a possibility. The display for voltage and watts is very clearly displayed and the alarm is clearly audible with music playing. Thats a good thing!
