I bought the same model CXT 450 which the only difference being sold by another store. This radio does what I wanted it for,just communication around my property. My cell phone has some dead areas around on my property. This has so far surpassed my expectations. However do not expect 22 mile distance out of it unless you are on top of a mountain talking to someone on top of another mountain with no obstacles in between. I barely get a mile in heavy Forest. One thing that I was unaware of when I bought it was the weather channels on this unit. They are very clear and an extra benefit to the radio if you are in the outdoors. So i think it has been a very good purchase. I might add this unit is less expensive at Amazon than where I purchased it.

I really like this 2 way radio. I give one hand set to my 9 year old son when he goes out to play. I always know where he is because he likes to "check in".

I've owned several of these types of radios, and haven't been happy with any of them. This is one of the better ones for my purposes, carrying it in a backpack or pocket. For one thing, the rotating knob on top for on/off makes it unlikely to turn on by accident, unlike those where on is an easily-pressed pushbutton. Also, when you lock the buttons on other radios, the volume up/down function still works, and if it's a pushbutton the volume can change randomly. On this, the volume is a knob which is unlikely to turn by accident.

Best of all it has a better range than any of the others in its class that I've tried. Nowhere near the advertised range of course, but it has reached over 1/2 mile for me in pretty dense woods, over a little hill, and through a building.

Audio quality is excellent.

I really like the fact that I can recharge them (albeit one at a time) without bringing along the bulky recharger base.

The only negative is that it's a bit bigger and heavier than the others. I wish such a radio could be more compact.

I sometimes go on our lake alone to fish and these 2-way radios are perfect for the wife to tell me she has supper ready.

These radios didn't work at all. There was a lot of static sound and very little reliability around a small property. We could hardly understand what the other person was saying on the other radio. Really disappointing. The directions seem like they should be simple, but were actually of little help. Our kids could not use them.

These work so well and the fact that they are rechargeable is great! I am very happy!

These radios worked great for about six months...then the batteries started to wear out and lose their charge. You would take it off the charging dock and literally an hour later, with very little use, the thing would be dead!

My grandson (age 7)and I have been using these for over a year now. We use them when he is playing outside. I set them to OX which lets me listen to what is going around him. He doesn't have to push the button when they are in this setting. They really work very well and are very reliable and dependable

I bought the radios to carry with us when we are on the slopes skiing. The radios are much too large to fit in most jackets and/or pant pockets. I had to return them.

I get with in 8' of my computer and it goes to static. Also my old set after a year you turn it on and after a short time it looks like it is working but it doesn't. You get no incoming calls or you hit a button it is NOT working so you have to turn it off and back on to make it work for a short time again. I just got a new set and 1 of these are doing the same thing. Not to good of a unit.
