I can't justify paying more than $100 dollars for a RADAR detector. This one does the job fine. All RADAR detectors will give false alarms for door openers, etc., since they use the same frequencies. Also, officers have to have their RADAR on for your detector to work. Some of the reviews on here whined about police officers being right next to them and it not going off.

For a cheap RADAR/LIDAR detector, the Cobras work just like they should. They cannot do magic, and neither can the $400 ones. The only advantage to the more expensive ones are if they come with remote mounted (front and rear) sensors. Otherwise, it's the same technology for 4x times the price.

i researched many sites and this seemed to be the best deal. i bought this for my boyfriend, who by the way has had plenty of speeding tickets. since he had gotten this product he has not gotten one and has avoided getting one when he was speeding and his detector went off. he really likes the city/highway setting. he sometimes drives around to find cops to make sure that it works. it has gone off everytime!

I have been using this product for well over 3 months already n at first it was not senstive bit when I started to play around with the setting I found it to be very senstive... When I first got it had a hard time picking up the ka band. But since now I have set it up the right way. I usually pick up the ka band from 2 to 3 miles away. And the laser from a cop about a mile away. It's a really good radar detector and I recommend you to get it but I will say you have to play with the settings before you use it. If anyone has any questions just as me I'll glady help you out...

i had this radar for over 4 months it worked its purpose in the united states, but the radar detectors are legal here so it wasent a big deal of being detected, few weeks back i went on a road trip to montreal canada and on the border of ontario and quebec a cop detected the radar and we hid at as soon as we seen the cop comming up on as and they searched the car and found it so this radar detector is very detectable and the fine was 648$ for some reason so if your planning on going to canada beware, also it saved us alot of tickets untill 1 cop took action

I've owned a few radar detectors over the years, some worked well some didn't, either way I've still always nervously and constantly looked around for cops. I took at 1600 mile round trip vacation a week after I got my new Cobra. I started the same old way staring at every car, under bridges, behind bushes. Nothing. I was wondering if it was working, I'm used to my radars in the past beeping all the time, when nothings around. Then it beeped, faster and faster, the numbers escalated, and sure enough between some damn bushes, there was a trooper. Saved. A while later I heard some strange sound, slowed down, 10 seconds later, an unmarked trooper. This happened multiple times on the way. What I realized on the way back is that it doesnt beep at false alarms, it doesnt beep at anything other than cops with radar guns. I finally for the first time, was able to trust my Cobra, and enjoyed my trip and didn't have to sit with my eyes peeled to the road looking for cops. I actually completely stopped looking for cops and let me guard down, as the few more times it went off there was a cop within a mile or two away.

Man... for less than $90, I feel like I bought the best detector on the market. A big thumbs up!

Great little product. Sensitive and completely reliable. Withing the first week, I was saved from a ticket three times in Arizona. Great product and a very competitive price.

I purchased this radar detector for use in my truck. Used it on a trip to Denver, Colorado. It detected every State Patrol that had a radar. I was able to cover a large amount of miles (800 miles) with no speeding tickets. Great investment.

I bought this radar detector for both local and long distance use. It works great with our local sheriff's dept and police. But I have noticed that it does not seem to work at all around our state troopers, which is one of the reasons I bought it. I don't get any reading when they're around - not even when they already have someone pulled over. So, I still have to be very careful on trips. I don't feel as confident as I wanted. However, it has saved me many times on the way to work with our locals. Maybe I do have to spend hundreds of dollars to cover them all.

This is an awesome radar detector for highway use. It has warned me of every officer I've come across. Of course it's going to pick up all the retail stores doors when in the city which is why I don't use it that much for local travel. For the money, it works as it's suppose to. Highly reccomend it.

This is a good product...once you read the directions and learn how to work it properly. I'm very happy with it.
