I just didn't like the cheapy foam ear piece.
Richard Carrasco
I clipped the microphone to my seatbelt and it worked just fine, I was told it was easy to understand me.

Would recommend to anyone with cobra walkie talkies.

As a professional videographer, I needed a way to communicate with my other camera person and I found a 2-way radio but during a wedding I could not have a loud radio going off. After a long search, this earbud headset was recommended. I have used them on two wedding shoots so far and they have work very well.

That said, I wish they were not the earbud type. The earbud has a tendency to fall out which can be a pain it if it happens at important moment. I also would have liked to have the mic be a little closer to the earbud because I have reach down and move the mic closer to my mouth to stay quite.

Not bad for the price, but it could be better

I am part of a car club and we use walkie talkies to communicate. The problem I've had is that my car is a Cabrio so I get a lot more wind noise. I tried them out today and they were great. I could hear everything the others said just fine. I clipped the microphone to my seatbelt and it worked just fine, I was told it was easy to understand me.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars in that the ear bud is really hard and uncomfortable, it's pretty much like the one that comes with the iPod. I do have a solution though that I've used with my iPod buds, I just ordered a pair of Yurbuds, which are soft rubber and slip over the bud. They will make it comfortable and keep it in my ear.

The only earpiece I've found that works as a silent communicator with the Cobra walkie-talkie devices. Any store in my area, which includes Best Buy, Circuit City, Radio Shack, anyone who actually carries the Cobra device, doesn't carry the correct earpiece that allows you to communicate without using the speaker/mic on the unit.

I work with a small theater group that requires whisper communication. I would have preferred an actual headset. In lieu of finding a headset I found this earbud that has a mic/switch built into the cord. The switch is the key to 'send', same as the key on the walkie-talkie. Earbud hangs in the ear and you hold the tiny switch/mic in your fingers, raise it to your mouth to speak. You do NOT use the keying device on the Cobra to speak. Using the clip on the walkie-talkie to attach to the belt is OK so long as you don't bump into something that changes the channel. There may be a lockout for the channel selector - haven't bothered to look for the config in the manual.

I've not tried to use it in regular open air application as in hiking outdoors, etc., when I wouldn't expect to raise the mic to my mouth to speak. Don't think it's an issue in that it is sensitive enough in whisper that in open air I expect it to work OK without raising, though that is the instinctive thing to do when holding the switch.

Our theatre has the Cobra Microtalk radios but all we have had to use were the Radio Shack brand earbuds. They were horrible to use because we had to keep unplugging/plugging them into the radios to hear anyone and you couldn't push them in all the way. The cobra earbuds work so much better with the cobra radios. I don't care how long they last, if they get me through a single year of shows, I will be happy.

Sorry the the late review, but wanted to actually use the product on one of our Miata road rally's. The compact mic worked like a dream while running through the Rockies. My co-pilot was able to communicate with the other cars in the rallies we did without any problems and the other drives could her us fine even with the top down.

I would recommend these earbud microphone!

Work great, just wish they were a little tougher made. This is the second set I have had to purchase as the wires are subject to breaking easily. No non-Cobra brands seemed to work, though Radio Shack may have some that might. I discovered them after I purchased these. I use earbuds on my Cobra 2 way radios when hunting with friends.Cobra GA-EB M2 Earbud and Compact Microphone
