The Cobra HG A1000 is a base-load small count CB antenna with 100 watt power handling capability, and 26-30 MHz frequency range. It comes weather channel capable with SO 239 connector, black stainless steel whip and hardware, matched braided coaxial cable, and a scratch-resistant base pad.

This is a very poor product! On my first trip, it fell of my car roof at 40 MPH. Not nice.

It is clear that the base is insufficient for an antenna of this length.

Amazon must have sorted out the shipping packaging since the last reviewers commented. I received my antenna in a large box with plenty of padding. The antenna wasn't bent. However, the dimensions of the antenna are wrong... It's much longer than 21 inches, and so I wasn't able to install the antenna on the roof of my truck. Hence I'm giving it 4 stars, rather than 5. I've installed it on my pickup, but at the front of the truck.

The antenna seems to work well for what I use it for. I usually turn on my CB when I hit a traffic jam to see what my best options are. My only complaint is that the coax cable could be longer. I've received good clear reception from several miles away.
