This pair of rechargeable Cobra two-way radios is ideal for hiking, camping, skiing, and other outdoor activities, as it lets users communicate from up to eight miles away (depending on terrain and other conditions). The radios feature a 2-watt output that increases the full-range capabilities for General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS), while the 500 mW output powers the Family Radio Service (FRS) options. Each radio is capable of accessing all 22 channels and 38 privacy codes, which combine to provide a total of 836 sub-channels. Users who prefer hands-free communication will appreciate the VOX (voice operated transmission) capabilities with five sensitivity levels, which lets you talk on the radio while carrying groceries, holding ski poles, and more.

Additional features include a patented silent alert for incoming calls, 10-channel memory, battery saver circuitry, a scan feature that lets you monitor channels to locate conversations in progress, and a water-resistant casing for outdoor use.
