Cobra Straight Power Cord for Cobra Radar Detectors

I unplugged my radar detector and had trouble getting the cord out of the socket. When I later plugged in the cord, the unit did not work; it was not receiving any power. I contemplated buying a new radar detector for $150 or so but found this cord on sale at Amazon for under $10. I figured it was cheap enough to gamble that the cord was the problem. It was and for $8.99 I was able to keep my Cobra Radar detector running as usual. The cord was shipped promptly and in good shape.

The chords that come with the Cobra radars are usually to short and/or taut to actually extend easily to the windshield. This chord is an excellent replacement.

I read the reviews and the product came in as expected. It's longer than the one that came with my radar detector. You need to get this if yours did not come with a straight cord!

Works much better than coiled cords that are too short and sooner or later pull your radar protector off your windshield.

I stepped on my Cobra power cord and feared I would have to replace the unit. Not so. This cord was cheap and it works. I'm satisfied, and it is longer than the original, which I appreciate.

Now only if my car had multiple outlets....

Arrived long before suggested arrival date and works fine, unfortunately the radar detector I bought it for turns out to not be working, oh well.

I got this as a gift. I'm not a speeder, but I drive a take-home company Jeep Liberty that's larger than my personal Toyota Corolla, and I'll be going faster in the Jeep than I realize. I got one ticket when I was on a stretch of 30 mph road and was going just fine -- or so I thought. The 45 mph I was doing got me half a day in traffic school!

My wife got me a Cobra radar detector a couple of years ago as a means of helping keep me honest. I hear beeps and I automatically check my speed, and since then I haven't had a ticket. Imagine my dismay when the original car power cord broke. I looked for a replacement and finally found one here on amazon, but I also noticed that a straight cord option was available.

The original came with a telephone-like coiled cord and it would only stretch about 2-1/2 feet. I've had to rent a car a couple of times, and I couldn't take the radar detector with me because the cord wasn't long enough. Well, I took a chance and ordered the straight cord at the same price as a replacement coiled cord, and I am so glad I did! It's about 18 inches longer, so now I can use it in my company car, as well as in rental cars (I usually drive from Tucson, Arizona to outside of Odessa, Texas non-stop, about 700 miles, so I like a larger rental car for comfort -- hence a larger dash that the old coiled cord was too short to fit. The new one will do just great.)

I've had the cord a week now and it works just great in my Jeep. I'm driving my family (in a large rental car) to Austin, then on to Kentucky to visit my Dad, and it's nice to know that this time I'll be able to take my radar detector -- just in case! I'm very pleased with this product!

The first piece was requested to ship expedited but didn't arrive. I contacted the merchant who had e-mailed me to confirm it made it - they suspected it hadn't - however it went to my spam and I didn't see it. They shipped a replacement right away and credited back the expedited freight charge. Can't ask for anything more than what they did - highly recommend this merchant.

Product broke after two uses the cover that goes in to the lighter pulled off this is the second cord I have purchased.
