comes set up right out of the box

very easy to use and set up just the way you want . works great very few false alarms. great radar detector for the price. if you by this radar detector im sure you will be as happy as I am with it since there are so many out there to pick from. the windshild mount is a little to small and the radar detector is about 6in long so it tends to bounce around over bumps. but all in all its well worth the money.

Pros:

- Text display, very helpful.

- Good product at reasonable price.

- Very few false alarms.

- Automatic mute.

Cons:

- Digital Compass is not reliable, constantly need calibration at least once a week.

- The power cord. I prefer a straight power cord versus the standard flex cord.

Not sure if this last one is a con or not but the emergency vehicle warning does not always activate when an emergency vehicle is approaching or passing. Not sure if it's the emergency vehicle system or the radar. Either way it does not impact the original purpose of this radar, which is to locate police radars. A caveat I can live with.

Very pleased with this detector. ALways been a fan of Cobra and this one is not as annoying as the earlier models. Very flexible with options, sounds, buttons.

This is the best radar detector I have owned. I love the way that it indicates what type of radar it is sensing, as well as the strength of the signal. It auto mutes, but keeps you aware of the continuing signal much quieter, and with the visual. I love that the suction cups supplied with it are of a good quality, and are not constantly coming off! The only problem I had with it was that the instruction booklet was too small to easily read, but I emailed Cobra about that, and they enlarged the book on their copy machine and sent it to me! Great service!!!

I've owned a Cobra detector before. Updating the old one for this model, with the newest features was an easy decision for me. I price shopped for quite a while and could not beat this value. The packaging was done with care, and the shipping was fast. I could not be happier with this purchase.

Well, I bought this one since I give my wife the other one I had. The problem I have with this one is that the range is much less than the other one I had and the signal strenght bar never gets over 1 even if you are right next to the plice car.

Not a good one to have IMO. I think I'm going to return it and buy another brand.

This is a good price for something so feature packed. Comes with a curled stretch cord, not a flat one.

The product is high quality, easy to set up, and definitively will alert you of a Police Radar, it scans all practical bands and gives you early warning. But there is a downside: Too many false positives, even on city mode and with the auto-mute function. So if you are not annoyed with this thing beeping all the time, it is the right product for you.

This has been a great tool.I travel 660 miles a week to and from work and see around 20 cops each week and it has never failed me.Love the compass in it makes it real nice.
