I got this steak iron a while back and I must say we've loved it, we use it nearly everytime we have a party and cookout. I'm not sure how that guy who posted an earlier review managed to melt his, but it sounds like he must have had it over something other than a standard flame or left it directly in the fire for a really, really long time as this thing is made of metal... We've used mine over a dozen times to brand steaks and burgers without a problem and love it.

Following the instructions that came with this branding iron; this branding iron would've been awesome if only the letter hadn't MELTED while it was being heated to sear BBQ steaks. It comes with alot of letters and it's easy to assemble a message; but appenently the letters are made of a cheap alloy that MELTS when being heated to a temperature hot enough to brand steaks. A disappointing product. 2 stars for concept; but doesn't stand up to the heat.

This is a cool product. We recently hosted a grill out with friends and personalized everyone's steak. The guests loved it.
