This great tool makes the job of getting the weed up with the root intact so much easier.
A customer
It's useful in digging and loosening the soil, making furrows and removing stubborn, deep rooted weeds from tight places without disturbing the surrounding plants.

Here's a video review that shows how the Cobra Head tackles nasty weeds like Texas Bull Thistle.

The CobraHead Weeder is a rare thing -- a product that I can whole heartedly recommend. It is by far the most effective weeding tool I have ever used. The sharp head and curved neck penetrate even the hardest, driest Texas soil, get under the roots of weeds, and lift them out -- completely! This tool is also ergonomic and less stressful to my wrists than other weeders. The handle is very comfortable.

This sturdy tool will last a life time!

This is one of the more valuable and useful little tools I have ever own or used. It is indeed a weeder as advertized here, but it also makes an excellent cultivator for odd little corners in our vegetable and flower gardens. Due to its shape it is easy to maneuver in and around delicate plants (if used with a light touch) and I find I am less likely to accidently cut through a root system or do major damage to the showing part of the plant. I know it was not made for a cultivator, but hey, it works for me...in particular around tomato and pepper plants.

This thing is perfectly designed for weeding though; as it was made to do. The handle is think enough that hand and grip strain is kept to a minimum. The entire tool is extremely well made and has a wonderful `heft' to it. It is difficult to describe is words but this little tool simply has a "feel" to it which is very pleasing. Those who use tools, garden tools in particular, will know what I am talking about. The weeder is well made and tough. It should be noted that this thing is not made for massive weeding so if you have a gigantic plot that needs weeded, then look for something a bit larger and something that will remove more weed and root per stroke.

I note that due to the curved shape that my arms do not get as tired using this tool as they do when I use a more traditional straight shafted weeder made for like usage. I am actually almost as old as the dirt I am working in so I need all the breaks I can get. Now there is a knack to using these things but after a bit of practice and experimentation the user should find that all is well. This is not a tool that you swing and beat against the ground like you would a hoe or spade. Somewhere I ran across a UTube demonstration of this thing which was quite useful.

I thought I was ordering another tool very similar to the cobrahead. When I got this one, it works so much better than the one I wanted. It slices down to the roots of the weeds and tough grasses, making the job so much easier. I have several large flowerbeds, that had gotten quite out of hand while I was sick this summer. I got them all cleaned out in one weekend. I just might be ordering more as gifts for my friends for Christmas! It is a very sturdy, solid tool. Well made and should last a long time! The handle is very comfortable to use. I'm 70 years old so I need all the help I can get!

Versatile, durable, comfortable, the CobraHead is the first tool I pick up when I head out to the garden. I do everything with this: cultivate, mix compost, hack through hard-pan, transplant. etc.. Used mine in California clay-type soils going on three years now. The blade is quite worn, but the tool is still solid. Large diameter handle feels good in the hand and reduces grip fatigue. This is not a cheap import that will last but one season. I can't comment how it will perform in rocky soils, but in clay it rips.

I have been looking for an effective, easy to use weeder for a long time. I went to dozens of garden shops, hardware stores, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and all they offer is the common straight-shaft weeder that's hard to use for any length of time and not very good at getting weed roots out of the ground. Then I saw the CobraHead Weeder on the internet and bought it. It works great. The curved shaft is just the right size and shape to grab roots and it doesn't wear out your wrist like the straight-shafted versions. I highly recommend it. And it's made in the USA!

If you often wish your gardening tools would function more like an extension of your body, then this is a weeding tool you're sure to love. It's constructed of sturdy, recycled materials, and the diamond-shaped blade truly feels like an extension of your hand - like a sturdy steel fingernail ready to break up soil, unearth weeds, create planting rows, and plant 6-packs or 4" plants.

If you're doing a lot of veggie gardening, or weeding in spots where the weeds are small and the soil's relatively soft, then this weeder has very natural feel that is a pleasure to use. It is not the best for large, established weeds, but for "finished" gardens that merely need maintaining, and for veggie gardening, it's an excellent multi-purpose tool. It's also great at removing weeds from sidewalk cracks.

For all-purpose use, I prefer a stainless steel hori-hori or soil knife, but for veggie gardening I like this tool a lot.

The CobraHead delivers all that is promised and more. It is great for scalping small areas in flower beds and then digging out weed roots. Excellent edging tool. Solid construction and comfortable hand grip.
