As a portable color TV this product would rate a 2. No battery power. Only AC/DC, including the auto adapter. It picks up 4 or 5 UHF channels but not any VHF in my large city, though with large amounts of static. On the auto adapter outside it picks up 2 channels in my city, so the built in antenna is a weakling. The AM-FM radio works well. Sound is adequate for my workshop. However, I'll give it a three because as a stationary TV in my workshop, hooked directly to cable tv, it picks up 20 something cable channels (out of at least 75), with a good picture. Oddly enough the digital tuner picks up at least 5 channels that are not available in my cable package on my other TVs, and the channels are established in a different order from the full cable package on the regular TVs! Go figure. This must be why the product is not advertised anywhere online as cable ready, though the user manual indicates that it is fully cable ready -- probably in China. So don't buy this as a portable TV; maybe for the kitchen or workshop.

This set lost color and picture quality over the few months that I owned it and then it just stopped working. I'm going to buy something else and so should you.

When looking for a small color television for our kitchen, I realized that LCD-screen models were too expensive for my budget.

This Coby 5" color TV takes up very little room on the kitchen counter. It offers all of the functions that we were looking for, including radio. The picture quality is good. We have had no problems at all with it. We bought this TV to replace an old black & white 5-inch model that took up much more space.

Obviously, other products are available with more features, but we found this TV to be a very good value for the price that we paid. After all, it's not our main television, and this simple little TV does a nice job in the kitchen.

I got it for my sister for her birthday in june... she use it everyday since july and now in august its dead. The picture tube just blew out for no reason. VERY UPSET. Buyers Beware.

Is there a less than 1 star. After 5month, it just stopped working, How do i get my money back. Not worth it for the money. I have a smaller tv that I have had for 6 years and still works.

I was never happy with this product. The picture always had a green tint and would not adjust out. After less than a year the tube blew out.

Coby CTV555 5" COLOR TV is unquestionably the cheapest, worst designed, poorly manufactured, unsatisfiying product that I have ever purchased anywhere. I read the instructions plugged it in and it did not work. This was a complete waste of time. Amazon ought to drop this product.

I received a Coby CTV-555 as a present a year ago. The first one was DOA. So, I got a replacement. It worked, but I needed cable as I could only get one station. So, I didn't use it for several months. We got cable, and this useless machine worked all of 5 times - just long enough to get over the 90 day warranty. No picture - looks as if the picture tube has blown. This is a buyer beware . Don't buy it at any cost. Coby should be ashamed to put out a product like this to scam the customer. No wonder they only give a 90 day warranty. They know if won't last any longer. Minus 1 star is the rating I would give this.

I would not buy this again. After four months, the TV became inoperable, and I could only receive radio. If you buy it, be sure to get any extended warranty the store may offer.

I love my Colby 5" color television. It is so lightweight I can carry it anywhere. I bought it to carry to the office to watch football on Saturdays because my 13" was to big to lug around. I do not have cable at work so I have to rely on the antennae that came with the Colby. I can pick-up most of my local stations with great clarity and the color is excellent. I can also pick up UHF stations. It even has a small remote that I mute the sound with when customers call me. It also has a radio that I can listen to when not watching the television. The price was excellent on Amazon. I had shopped Ebay and other web sites. Amazon had the best prices, and it arrived very quickly. I have had it a few months and so far have not had any problems with it and am thoroughly pleased with its performance.
