5.0 out of 5 stars 2.4 Ghz Wireless Headphone
It is wonderful! We have tried so many different brand names from Sony to Phillips etc.
But this one is wonderful. My other half likes to watch TV while I am sleep which is a big problem. I can't listen to anything while trying to sleep!
This particular wireless headphone allows him to listen with clarity while the volume on the TV is basically completely...

This product was fair. The 10-channel feature is nice, but after 2 days the power button broke and I had to tape it in the on position. It works fine except for that, but pretty unfortunate that mine has to work this way.

This product was fair. The 10-channel feature is nice, but after 2 days the power button broke and I had to tape it in the on position. It works fine except for that, but pretty unfortunate that mine has to work this way.

I get good reception anywhere in my house. But I live in a ranch and can only get about 50 feet from the transmitter. The instructions says it only works for up to 30 feet, so that is what you should expect unless you're lucky.

The phones recharge when they're attached to the base. This is nicer than my last set of Radioshack wireless headphones, which simply took 2 AAA batteries, although with this last pair I simply used rechargables as well.

You should also know that when the headphones and transmitter are on but not receiving an audible signal from the sound source, that they make a loud static noise. So in the silence in-between songs be prepared to listen to a little static.

The phones are kind of difficult to fit into the charger sometimes.

I would say overall this product is fair. If you have better luck than me your power button might not break right away.

These have to be the biggest pieces of junk i have ever used. I figured because they were 2.4ghz they might be better than the 900 mhz pair i had. They weren't they have a fair less range than the 900mhz do. Don't bother buying them i throw them in the trash after having them for 2 days. Waste of time and money.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT WELL CONSTRUCTED, September 26, 2006
This review is from: 2.4 Ghz Wireless Headphone (Electronics)
After only a few weeks of gentle use, the pieces that hold the earphones cracked and fell apart. I now hold it together with electrical tape. Otherwise, it works just about as advertised.

After so many years of sturdy headphone manufacturing, you'd think this is one thing that they could've gotten right.

My neck hurts after listening to these for a while.
Also the volume control is funky. Every time you start it, the volume starts out at a deafening level.
Sound quality is so-so
Overall I regret buying these.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected, January 3, 2007
This review is from: 2.4 Ghz Wireless Headphone (Electronics)
These headphones aren't up to expectations. The general fit is loose to the point where the ear pieces do not stay put and they dont grip your head.

The audio quality is dissapointing. Unless there is constant signal output from the headphones, electronic HUM (quite loud in fact) is all you will hear. In order to get a workable audio, you must turn down the volume control on the headset to the point where it almost becomes inaudible.

Unless you aren't concerned with quality, spend your money elsewhere.

My wife and I have been looking at Wireless Headphones for when we exercise. We have looked at several different models to date and came across the Coby. While I had no problem with the unit (at first), my wife hated the way it felt and how much it moved while she was on the treadmill. Anyway, After a couple of days of use, I plugged the transmitter into our Big Screen TV and all I head was an annoying hum and screach. I unplugged it fromt he TV and went backt o my IPod and nothing changed. I spent the next hour walking around the house plugging this fool thing into different outlets and while the sound improved a bit, The hum and screach were always more powerful. In order to be fair, I did take this a step further and disconnected all cordless phones, wireless networks, etc. just to see if that would make a difference, It didn't. This product is now back in it's original package and will be on it's way to Amazon.
I can not tell you to avoid purchasing this item as it may work for you but I will advise you to think twice and carefully review other products before settling with this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars This is an OK Product at Best, December 13, 2010

The first problem that I encountered with this product is that the re-chargeable batteries that it came with were corroded. So before I could even get to use them, I had to purchase a fresh set of re-chargeable batteries. (This is evidence that either the product was in the warehouse a very long time, or they just installed the very, very cheapest batteries that they could have found!)

With that aside, the adventure of using this headphone began. Unless you want to get a loud shout in your ear drums, set the volume down before putting them on. The Range is not too bad, maybe around 20 feet or so, but if you are in an area with other wireless devices, you can experience weird side effects. Also there is an operational hum, this will only be heard between songs, or where there is supposed to be silence.

Because of the batteries and the transmitter, this is a big and heavy unit to carry on your head for an extended period of time. It maybe good if you want to strengthen your neck muscles.

Generally, the units are not defective per say, just poor workmanship, so if you need a top notch item, this is NOT it. For casual home use, it may be acceptable, only if you can get it at a bargain price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Purchasing Decision, March 24, 2009
This review is from: 2.4 Ghz Wireless Headphone (Electronics)
So if you are in the market for new headphones, let me make one thing clear: do your research.

I didn't, and I paid a $40 cost for it. The culprit, COBY wireless headphones. They are everything that is wrong with headphones, and wireless technology today. The company did zero QA on the thing, and there is little excuse for putting out such a terrible product. Unfortunately, there isn't much protection for me in hoping I can take them back.

What's wrong with them you might ask. Well let me iterate:

1) batteries come not charged. Minor deductions as there is some slight validation to that.
2) Sits a bit too loose on head.

Now onto the important bits:

3) Low quality sound. Like listening to AM radio out in the boonies
4) Headset base station gives lousy indication of whether headphones are charged
5) Base power button is untactile and looks like it'd easily break
6) Headphone volume control makes loud clicking sound (yay for tactile) that deafens your ear when you press it while it's on your ear (oh... that's bad)
7) The channel button that lets you change your receiver's channel SHOULD NOT be there, it should happen so that people get clear reception period with minimal interference. However, they do have it, it SHOULD NOT make large static hiss sound when changing
8) When you first turn them on after a nice full charge. You have to fiddle with it just to get it to stop crackling. Once you do, sound comes in LOUD. Not clear, but REALLY LOUD. LIKE SOMEONE TYPING IN ALL CAPITAL.

I just feel sorry for any person who ends/ended up in the same position that I have from being screwed over by the people.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO COBY.

F.Y.I. He can walk around the house or go to the restroom and still listen to what he was/is watching with clarity!

1.0 out of 5 stars Knocks out your wireless internet, September 10, 2008
This review is from: 2.4 Ghz Wireless Headphone (Electronics)
I bought these on impulse for $30. They are cheaply made (which I would expect), and come with no instructions. The three major drawbacks are: (1) it knocks out my 802. 11g wifi connection TOTALLY and INSTANTLY when turned on (even with a 98% signal strength). I got it to be able to watch TV and use my laptop without disturbing my sleeping wife, not even for listening to music. (2) There is an incessant right-click, left-click repeated over all channels (perhaps interference from another device). (3) the hiss reported by others is hard to minimize.

I am taking these back for a refund. I would avoid these even at this price.
