5.0 out of 5 stars A pretty darn good pair of headphones.
Now this isn't one of those $80 headphones you'd buy if you were planning on working in a recording studio or finding the perfect pitch to a song you're composing. It doesn't block out all outward sound if that's what you're wondering, but one normally doesn't expect headphones to.

There is no option for zero stars? I wanted something to replace the headphones that came with my MP3 player that were cheap, comfortable and sounded good. These only fit the bill for the 1st two criteria. I ordered these based on the reviews. Boy, were they wrong. The sound is utterly and completely unlistenable. 5.0 out of 5 stars A pretty darn good pair of headphones., August 26, 2004

Now this isn't one of those $80 headphones you'd buy if you were planning on working in a recording studio or finding the perfect pitch to a song you're composing. It doesn't block out all outward sound if that's what you're wondering, but one normally doesn't expect headphones to.

It's not fancy shmancy, but when it comes to being a pair of headphones, it gets the job done. It's got a great ear fit which allows adjustment to size, it's compact, it's got a nicely sized cord, the volume adjustment is GREAT!

The only possible downside I can think of is sound leaking. Almost every headphone does this, but I'm just pointing out that this one does also. When there's a song with a strong rhythym or a lot of bass, normally the people next to you can hear it.

What should you get these headphones for? If you just need a pair of headphones because your music is bothering anyone else or whatever reasons you want headphones for. These fit all the requirements one would want when buying headphones, they're compact, good-looking, and good sound, and the volume adjustment is good too. Trust me, if you're just looking for a pair of headphones that does the job but doesn't cost much, THESE are the headphones you want.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Office Earphones, March 11, 2005
This review is from: Coby CVH68 Lightweight Digital Super Bass Headphones with Volume Control (Electronics)
The Good: these provide good sound from my PC audio source, for both music and speech alike. The in-line volume control is much handier than fiddling with the on-screen widgets (which I have turned up to maximum). Outside noise is muffled but not silenced by the earpads (a must in my case), and since there's no headband, it's easy to keep one on and put the other in a shirt pocket if I need to be listening for something.

The Mediocre: they use pretty cheap plasic, especially on the part that goes behind the ear. It's certainly sturdy enough to hold up to desk use, or even being tossed in a bag, but if you have very sensitive ear-flesh, you might find something smoother. The outer shell will certainly get smudged it you touch it often, as there is smooth clear plasic covering the shiny bluish circle. Using the volume wheel could be a little easier; it's pretty thin, and only pokes out slightly from the module. I find it easiest to use the ridges on it to dial it up and won with my fingernails (at least it's not likely to chage volume if you don't want it to).

In short: a decent-quality product that provides good sound without isolation and at a very nice price.

These only fit the bill for the 1st two criteria. I ordered these based on the reviews. Boy, were they wrong. The sound is utterly and completely unlistenable. The sound is similar to an AM transistor radio from the 70's, and the jack is one of those that if you touch it, you get instant distortion. Please, DO NOT waste your money like I did. Right in the trash these things are going.

I'd first like to say that I have had the same type of headphones in the past. So, I knew what these headphones should feel and sound like, but the Coby headphones are a disappointment. Don't waist you're money... These headphones are not worth it.

These Headphones sound good but do not clip tight to your ears, so anytime you have to lean forward to do anything they will fall off!! I wish I had read this reveiw before I bought 2 pairs of them!!

The headphones worked for less than one day, then the left side of the headphone stopped working. Very cheap product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Buy, April 29, 2009

Good sound. I like the in-line control. It has gotten loose on the ear so it has some trouble staying on.

I don't like earbuds so I need the over the ear deal. I thought I'd like it better without the headband, but I was wrong. It's floppy the ears, so if you're running, they'll bounce. They won't sit flush against your ears so you won't get great sound out of them. If you're laying out, one or both might flop away from your ears. Having that on your mind while you're trying to relax and not think about your earphones isn't fun.

When pressed against your ears, they sound great. These with a headband to keep them in place are perfect. I recommend one of those, not one of these.
