I needed a large frame to mount on the wall for my elderly Mother, so it needed to be; large; provide quality resolution, and easy to use. I test drove about 3 frames before purchasing the Coby and I sent all three back because they lacked one or more of the things that I desired.

The Coby stands out mostly in terms of resolution, but also because of its 12inch size it packs a visual punch. (I purchase all vide equipment in terms of display resolution, and so should you) The frame is not much to look at in terms of appearance, and I imagine that is what was sacrificed to keep the price low with a high res screen. Also, this frame sports an internal 1 Gig memory, which means in most cases you can do without the memory card alltogher.

Cons: cannot turn frame off with the remote (at least I have not fiqured it out yet)

When I tried to load media on the other frames that I sent back it was very troublesome or it took forever. I placed a 2 gig memory card into the frame and instantly loaded 1300 pictures by way of a thumb drive into it. I also played around with the internal memory by placing nearly 1000 pictures in it before removing them.

I tried the video feature but since most of my media comes by way of a high resolution DVD camcorder I was not able to get the media into the card, but I suppose it will take video media from cell phones or other portable devices.

I loaded several songs into the frame to add music to my pictures. You will find that it will take only certain formats of music (as described). In the end I was able to mount the frame onto my mothers wall; give her the remote to adjust the volume if necessary. When the frame starts up it goes directly to the files embedded into the memory card. Oh, I like it to because it does actually do effects but it also will mix your pictures as it shows them. Although mixing nearly 1300 pictures cannot be actually realized as you watch them.

Good Frame; good price. I plan on purchasing an additional frame or two since I found one that actually does what it stats it will do and not lie for folks.

This is a great frame for the money.
Pros: Price, size, storage space (1G), remote, and has random picture display capability.
Cons: Instructions could be clearer, no tech support (no one answers the phone numbers, nor will they answer email), and last but not least it will not display any file modified by PhotoShop. Any of my photos that were edited by Photoshop had to be re-edited (in some way) by another product (I used Google's Picasa).

I have just bought this photo frame and would NOT recommend to buy it to anybody else.
You may ask me why. Here we go:
1. It's working too slowly. I inserted my USB flash card and waited for few minutes before my photos
were shown on a display. I repeated operation and again - need to wait few minutes.
2. It's hanging. I have tried to connect frame to my PC via miniUSB - USB cable and copy/delete some pictures.
And the frame is hanging almost all the time. Working so unstable.
I thought that the problem can be resolved with using their native driver, but there is no any special driver at Coby's site or
somewhere in Internet. So, Windows XP is using some universal USB driver. I did reinstall driver few times but it didn't help.
3. It doesn't contain all the features. Well, looking at the product description at amazon.com I saw - clock, calendar. alarm.
But such device does NOT contain them. I thought that it's amazon fault and check at Coby's web site. However, their description is
also wrong. What a shame. Such features were a big points in my choice for this frame.
4. I did connect to the Coby's support site and asked for driver/hotfix or whatever to fix my problem of hanging frame. Plus, I also told them about missing features
and wrong product description. No response so far from their side.

The only good point is a desing - its woodgrain.

Such frame supposed to be a gift and I was VERY dissapointed.
You still want to buy it? Think twice before doing it.

I thought this digital frame would be a convenient way to to display advertising in my business. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to load files successfully into the frame. You're better off with a small computer...

Ordered this frame for someone in a nursing home.
The calendar and clock functions are important.
Product description that these features were included is wrong.
Coby Tech Support confirms DG-1212-1G does not include these.
