Update: After just over 2 months, it stopped working.

So you must use one remote to control TV volume and on/ off , and another to change channels.

If you do decide to buy this converter box, you will also have to buy an antenna.

Converter boxes will become increasingly scarce next few months. Prefered brands sold out on Amazon, so got this one. ALLOWS Analog PassThrough. It does have menu choise to set Time Zone, but NO option to Turn Off Day-Light Savings which may be issue in Arizona. The "Program Guide" will only go ONE program into future (some brands go 3 - 4 hours ahead) Big annoyance, is the COBY Remote that comes with it, TURNS OFF Sanyo TV its connected to, when you push "Up Channel" button! and other buttons on COBY remote cause various menus & input channels on TV to pop up at inopportune times! I've notice COBY remote for DVD player I have does same thing on TVs in Hotel Rooms! I DID like the menu option that lets you program screen orientation (widescreen, letterbox, full) to be "Set By Program" which is where I set it. One odd thing about this DTV box (I have 3 other brands and they just have visual) is for the Channel Signal Strength Bar it ALSO has audible BEEPING coinciding with signal strength! Was going to send it back because it interferes with TV set, but decided to work around problems and keep box, (push "Up Channel" button again, turns TV set back on!) as my preferred brands (GE, RCA) are sold out!

My Digital Stream box quit after 9 mos. so I bought this one. You should know that unlike the Digital Stream box, this one has no provision for operating the TV it is connected to. So you must use one remote to control TV volume and on/ off , and another to change channels. The COBY box did not pass analog channels as promised (yes, I turned it off). It also was not able to see some of the channels the Digital Stream box could. But the DS box costs more than twice as much as the COBY. I guess you get what you pay for.

Why did you choose this rating? We have a recreational motor home with a HD TV. With the antenna, alone, we picked up a few
channels Once the Coby DTV 102 converter box was attached, we were able to pick-up A LOT of
stations (Channel 5, 11, 22, 5.2, 17.2, etc.). We missed not being able to look at local
news/weather.

What did you like or dislike? Like that it is easy to hook-up.

Would you recommend this product? Yes.

I purchased this converter box for use with a perfectly good analog standard-definition TV.
It arrived in perfect condition and performed exactly as advertised.

This box works well. There are buttons on the front that control the channels and the quality is excellent. Gave only 4 stars because it took forever to come and there's no volume control for the box. Would still recommend.

The unit went out in about 32 days after the date of purchase. It goes on but then flips back to the "Stand By" mode in about seven seconds.
How do they even do that, so that the retailer would not take it back (30 days guarantee)? How convenient for everybody but me. I am stuck with it - have to send it back now and expect to receive something similar. Why should I be adding the cost of shipping to the price of that piece of crap? And wait for two weeks, at least, for the replacement.

And ... their customer service is disgusting. Hold you for half-an-hour on the phone and then talk to you like you are working for them and that is your responsibility to return the stuff that they screw up. I asked the guy why I have to pay extra for their screw-ups. Guess what ... It is their POLICY. And he did not even work for Coby, by the way. How nice.

I purchased this device during my quest to pull-the-plug on Time Warner. Coupled with the Leaf Indoor HDTV Antenna from Mohu, I got good reception piped into and old, but very large Sony.

What caused me to return the Coby DTV102 ATSC converter was it's sluggish response to changing channels. I'd to change the channel, count 3 Mississippi, and eventually the channel would change.

In the end I found myself getting up to click the front panel buttons to change the channel, only to find the same sluggishness -- indicating to me a firmware issue.

I will instead attach my Mohu leaf antenna to a Zinwell Digital to Analog Converter Box, which is currently being delivered. Yeah, that's how bad the response of the Coby was, that I'd do without it for a few days.

So if you're not going to change channels, it works fine. Otherwise, you might be better served with a more responsive unit.
