The Coby DVD-427 is a complete package containing all the basics you need to set up your first home theater system. Connect the DVD player, satellite speakers, and subwoofer to your existing HD-capable television and enjoy all the benefits of progressive scan and Dolby Digital. The system is compatible with PAL and NTSC signals, and the DVD player can play back DVD, CD, CD-R/RW, and MP3-formatted discs. The DVD player's features include subtitles, multiple viewing angles, an onscreen display, zoom, and parental lock. Use the full-function remote control to take advantage of all of these features. Audio outputs include Dolby Digital and coaxial digital out, and video outputs include component video out for progressive scan, composite video, and S-video outputs. The built-in amplifier also features a separate volume and bass control.

I bought this for my dad, because he loves tv. He never could get the crappy thing to work. What a waste and embarrassing gift!
